Day 14 of #productidea — Absolutely all cultural events in a city

This is part of my #productidea 30 day challenge on which each day I write about a new product idea.

Currently there are many websites with cultural events in our cities, but all of them focus first on paid events (to get the commission) and then on other events on the main museums or halls. There are also weekly magazines with more niche events.

However, all those just represent a tiny fraction of all the cultural events that are happening in our cities. Why is nobody aggregating all of them? Because the event hosts are really fragmented. There are many bookstores, libraries, pubs, private museums, public museums, universities, schools, halls, auditoriums, etc; and each of them are publishing their events on their websites or newsletters in an unstructured way, if they have.

The idea is to create a website that aggregates absolutely all cultural events in a city. First, there is a ton of manual work discovering and adding all events and hosts; and then there is the work of convincing the hosts to update weekly their events or manually adding them. And all of that it’s just for one city. It’s really time consuming, that’s why nobody is doing it. Who would be the crazy one?
