I write blog posts, and much more.

Full Disclosure: I’ve never written anything on a typewriter.

Thanks for hanging in there. This whole thing’s been a blast to assemble, and I hope I’ve engendered one or two chortles on your behalf. By now you should be well acquainted with my overall writing style through the chunks of narrative peppered throughout Professional Excursions.

(If you clicked on this link first, I highly recommend backtracking for some context. You don’t have to, but if the situation were reversed I’d totally do it for you.)

Here you’ll find samples of my professional writing in action—yes, I’ve been paid to word.

Website Copy.

If you’re so inclined, visit Renew’s website for the full version of my handiwork. Otherwise, please scroll through the snippets below.

Also, in the spirit of giving credit where credit is due: Corey Davidson, the marketing team’s senior graphic designer, is responsible for developing this website. He also helped me edit and refine my raw copy. Thanks, Corey!

Lifestyle section.

Renew’s tagline is “make way for the good.” It’s a wholesome message, and an extremely versatile marketing tool as one can effectively make way for anything. I’m particularly proud of the CTA below:

“Make way for the perks? That’s genius.” — Corey Davidson, Senior Graphic Designer.
Like I said, incredibly versatile.
⬆︎ Wish I’d gotten away with more shenanigans like this—it’s the small, quirky stuff that really enhances UX.⬆︎

Product Copy.

Taken from the same website, but worthy of a subsection.

Full Disclosure: “synergistic” was used despite my adamant disapproval.
Our flagship product, Renew HC. In retrospect, we probably shouldn’t have bottled it in what looks like an eyedropper.
Restore KG: it infuriates me to no end that, for all the time & effort I poured into researching human nutrition, ⬆︎that’s⬆ ︎the copy that stuck.

Email Campaigns.

A few selected email campaigns from our corporate offices to our frontline. I wrote ’em. I built ’em (in Mailchimp). And I sent ’em.

Corporate announcements: I wrote a ton of these.
Weekly calling schedules: I often had to re-spin the previous week’s email. Great practice.
Marketing/hype building campaigns: I oversaw every aspect of these campaigns.
Social Media Announcements: our primary demographic was not very tech savvy.

Marketing Materials.

These were my favorite projects. Short, snappy copy is always a welcomed cerebral challenge. It’s a chance for my inner poet to put on boxing gloves.

But, my heart belongs to long-form copy; narrative alcohol runs firewater hot through my veins. I hope the following documents will make that evident.

(Except for the FAQ.)

Independent Representative Welcome Letter.
Company values.
Product One-sheet.
Recruitment strategy.
Product FAQ p. 1

Didn’t find what you were looking for?

No problem. I’m more than happy to share other samples of my work according to your project’s demands. Notable selections that didn’t appear on this blog include:

• Video Scripts
• Customer Service Prompts
• Communication Strategy
• Employment Manuals
• Press Releases
• Fiction
• Poetry

If you’d like to see samples of the above, or if you’re ready to start hashing out the nitty-gritty, please feel free to sling me an email at nickadamrod@gmail.com or give me a ring at 512–985–8282.
