Introducing GEN-1 NFTs
Project Nebula is a real-time strategy game that incorporates unique NFTs on the ICON blockchain to provide players with speed, control and value.
As players eagerly anticipate the launch through the Gateway on 27 JUL 2021, information regarding the launch, and its accompanying GEN-1 NFTs, has been in high-demand.
Explorers, this is your long-awaited briefing…
Excited to play? Be sure to have your ICON wallet ready, some ICX, and visit the marketplace to begin! You’ll need, at least, a spaceship to explore (we recommend a planet too).
GEN-1 planets
GEN-0 began with 1,100 planets. 1,000 were rapidly bought up by explorers, and 100 were maintained by our team here at ICON Forge. The marketplace burst to life after the presale ended in January, with most planets growing at least 3x in value (even with the rising price of ICX).
Now the ratio of GEN-1 to GEN-0 planets is about 5:1, with 5,000 new and unique NFT planets being introduced to the game. There will be no presale of GEN-1 planets, however. These will all be discovered in the Galaxy by you, explorers.
All planets will now come with two grey upgrade slots additionally. These will allow for even common planets to have some basic enhancements. These grey slots will also be added to existing GEN-0 planets.
In total, the GEN-0 set included:
444 — Uncommons
644 — Rares
11 — Legendaries
1 — Mythics
In total, the GEN-1* set includes:
1935 — Commons
1750 — Uncommons
1150 — Rares
163 — Legendaries
2 — Mythics
*ICON Forge will maintain 200 planets from GEN-1 for marketing and collaborative purposes, to include 6 Legendaries and 46 Rares.
Planets of common, uncommon, and rare classes will now have a 1/3 chance of being claimable by in-game credits, instead of ICX. This will aid explorers by balancing the need for resource and credit generation over a mere cash-is-king mentality.

Earn a 25% discovery bonus
Exploration is in all of our hearts. No matter your reason for coming into Project Nebula, some part of you wants to venture into the void and discover something truly unique.
When an explorer discovers a new Legendary or Mythic planet, they earn the ability to claim Discovery Rights. The planet is then put up for auction in the Project Nebula marketplace (auction may begin a week later). 25% of the final sale will be awarded to the planet’s discoverer after the auction’s close. Legendary planets will go to a 3 day auction and Mythics to a 7 day auction.
UPDATE: Legendary planets can still be claimed immediately upon discovery rather than being sent to auction. The price will be a fixed amount set by the ICON Forge team for the previously unclaimed planet.
And don’t worry, just because you discovered the planet doesn’t mean you can’t bid on it! 25% of the final sale price will simply be refunded to you if you’re able to lay your claim. That’s a big space coupon.
Art, Music, Lore and more
We all highly value the collectibility and value-driven side of the NFTs in Project Nebula’s universe. With the release of GEN-1, even more opportunities to find rare and desirable pieces of art, music and lore will abound.
GEN-1 collectibles have varying copy counts. Some pieces may have only one copy, while various others could have as many as thirty-five. Check the copy number in the game to see just how rare your discovery is.
Throw in a few extra surprises and you’ve got yourself even more reason to hop in your ship and venture out…
Captivating Art
High-quality and captivating imagery comes once again in both unique and collectible panoramas and one-off designs. These images are wonderfully (and once again) designed by our artist Elias Stern and truly encapsulate Project Nebula.

Immersive Soundtracks
Ewert Sundja returns with a beautifully orchestrated album for GEN-1. Change the way you explore the Project Nebula universe with a new collection of 10 individual tracks made just for GEN-1 Project Nebula planets.
During your travels you may just come across some other collectible tunes. Be sure to keep your eyes (and ears) open.

Enveloping Lore
The continuous works of Taavi Kusmin will surely go on to captivate readers as the Nebula storyline develops even further in GEN-1. From faction fights to lone explorers, and even scientists gone mad, there is no end to the stories of explorers who’ve traveled through the Gateway — for endless reasons of their own.

Craft Network launches soon on the ICON Blockchain!
Project Nebula NFTs will be able to be bought, sold, and traded on Craft Network. We proudly welcome their NFT marketplace to ICON!
To celebrate the wonderful success of NFTs this past year, and their increasing traction on ICON’s blockchain, Project Nebula will mint and offer a very limited handful of GEN-1 NFT art, lore and music on Craft at launch.
The NFTs will be counted separately and only minted in a very limited supply.
