Signs
Gratitude Journal — Day 5
There is an amazing highway sign visible on one of the more rundown streets of Tulsa that says “What if it turned out better than you thought?”
Each time I pass by it, I get a sense of gratitude. It is a reminder to me that although my life has been anything but perfect, it really has turned out better than I thought it would. The sign gives me one of those gap moments that I am ever so grateful for and even humbles me a bit.
I feel humbled because I am reminded that I am not extraordinary. My life doesn’t have to be filled with drama or the constant beating drum of importance. If I just let go and let God, or the Divine or the Universe take care of things, all will turn out as it should. Maybe not as I would want it to, but as it should be.
It is a reminder not to live in a world of regrets, but to be thankful for everything that has occurred in my life up to this point because, without all of those occurrences, I would not be the person I am today.
It is also a reminder that wisdom can come from anywhere if you just pay attention.
