Proton Promo: DJ Invites Unlocked!

A year ago we launched Proton Promo in early access. For the first time, electronic music labels had a free and automatic promo pool platform that actually earned money for labels and artists.

When added to a promo pool on Proton, DJs can start featuring that label’s music in their mixes on Spotify and Apple Music. This has powered over 25 million extra paid streams for participating labels.

Until now, only DJs/artists with Proton accounts could be invited to our promo pools. Today, that limitation ends and a new chapter begins…

Music labels with full access to Proton Promo can now invite any DJ, artist, or even premiere channels to their promo pool.

This marks a big step forward for DJ mixes on Spotify and Apple, because now any DJ can get invited & involved. In the past, DJs were required to have at least 1 release via a Proton powered label before they could upload their first mix to Spotify or Apple.

Beyond just DJs, our music labels can also invite premiere channels. This makes it easier to coordinate premieres with channels: if a channel likes your promo, why not ask if they’d be interested in a premiere?

I’m a DJ, how can I get involved?

You’ll need an invite from a Proton powered music label. DJs cannot apply on their own yet, but our labels send tons of invites every week. If you know friends with labels or releases on Proton, reach out to them for an invite! Otherwise, stay tuned as things unfold.
