Another action-packed month has flown by. Our team of devs and trip advisors launched the official Plug iOS mobile app and brought instant purchases to ICNS. They also introduced automatic submissions to DAB and revealed Sonic’s first non-native token pair since the DEX joined Psychedelic last year.

Keep reading to find out more about what we have been up to.

Officially 🍏 Plugged

A little over a month after our beta launch, we released the official Plug mobile application for iOS! The official release replicated all core functionalities of the browser extension, but excluded the NFT tab or any NFT functionalities initially shipped with the Beta app due to restrictions imposed by Apple regarding NFT-related transactions.

  • Users can now hold, send, and view Internet Computer Tokens directly in-app, as well as save and use contacts in an address book, view transactions in the activity tab, and log in via FaceID or TouchID.
  • They can still access updated version of the Beta TestFlight, as we continue pushing for a way to reintroduce the in-app NFT tab

For more information about the official release, read our latest blog and download the iOS app.

ICNS: Instant Domain Purchasing

Our community has repeatedly called for abandoning the auction model used for purchasing new ICNS domains. Last month, we finally delivered on their frustration and transitioned ICNS to a fixed-price, instant purchasing model.

  • Now, users don’t need to worry about someone else snatching their preferred domain name at the end of the 3-day auction window.
  • Each ICNS domain has a fixed USD price denominated in WICP that correlates to the length of the domain name.

For a step-by-step guide on purchasing new ICNS domains, head over to our latest blog.

DAB’s Shiny New Canister

The DAB team launched a new Proxy Canister for DAB to address the issue of DAB registry submissions being managed and processed manually by our internal team. This is only a temporary solution to add automatic submissions to DAB via special permissions without touching our hardened registries, and will soon be replaced by a single controller in the form of a governance module.

  • The canister tracks & checks the status of a caller who wants to add their canister to one of DAB’s registries, by passing the call along only when the caller is a Trusted Source.
  • Trusted Sources can make automatic submissions to any of DAB’s registries.

This update represents step 1 of DAB’s 3-step plan to full decentralization. Read more about steps 2 & 3 in our latest blog.

New Token Pair in Sonic

May ended on a tear with one of the most anticipated updates on the IC. ORIGYN Foundation’s $OGY token started trading on Sonic as the first non-native pair since the DEX joined the Psychedelic family.

The ORIGYN foundation has built a platform that aims to democratize the luxury goods industry and lower the entry barrier for fine art buyers and sellers. Artists, galleries, and collectors can use OGY, the platform’s native utility token, to mint non-fungible tokens and create digital certificates of authenticity in order to certify their art pieces.

  • Users can swap ICP for OGY quickly and efficiently on Sonic under the WICP/OGY pair.
  • They can also provide liquidity through the Liquidity tab.

For increased efficiency, the DEX’s ‘Chained Swaps’ will always route your transaction in a path that produces the lowest fees and best output.

For more details on ORIGYN or its token swapping mechanism, read our latest blog.

That’s all for today! Come back in July for another Monthly Trip with the latest product roundup and ecosystem highlights.
