This summer, we’ve invited 13 new interns to join our team. Each intern comes from various different backgrounds and experiences, including top-tier universities in South Korea, the United States, and Canada. We are extremely proud to have them work with us and share a productive summer together!

Our full-time paid Internship Program offers both college students and postgraduates with unmatched opportunities in various different career fields, including marketing, computer science, research, design, and finance. From day one, interns are given opportunities to tackle several assignments and lead substantial projects that make a huge impact on the overall business operations. - Learn from the best — CEO Chang Whan (Luke) Byun and Global CEO Katie Bomi Son, are both respected leaders in their own fields. Luke founded QARA after working 4 years at Neowiz as a Software Engineer and 8 years at Samsung Asset Management as a Portfolio Manager. Upon joining QARA, Katie had extensive experience in several marketing firms, including Johnson & Johnson and the World Economic Forum, and even founded her own company called Project AA.
- Tight community — People here are dedicated to their work. They are passionate about what they do and share a common goal to grow the business. But that doesn’t always mean we don’t know how to have fun. Last month, our entire company traveled to Jeju Island to participate in a Hackathon event. We stayed there for three days and two nights and got to share a few laughs and jokes along the way. You can read more about the event here.
- Work in Korea — Some people might feel that the work culture in South Korea is tough. While we don’t doubt that our work can be challenging at times, we do our very best to provide a healthy and fun work environment. We don’t follow the “typical” corporate culture that you see in Korean shows or news. This means that we don’t participate in mandatory company outings or dinner on a daily basis, and we normally don’t work overtime.
- Lead projects — In many cases, interns aren’t given too many projects to lead. But here at QARA, we believe that every member of the team, including interns, should contribute equally to the overall company’s mission. Our genuine belief is that young talents have just as much power to make a positive impact than any seasoned professionals. For example, QARA recently promoted our Software Engineering Intern, Jung Chul Shin, as the new Chief Technology Officer (CTO).
We take pride in our internship program. Lots of young talents have come and helped our company grow in the past. Our interns receive a full orientation and educational sessions throughout the program, while also attending career seminars and leadership meetings.
