CASE of STUDY — ZERO

The first QualiCal IIoT workgroup has been focused to improve plant reliability, reducing unplanned downtime.

How much downtime is ideal? We think Zero sounds good.”

To reach the above challenges, our Customer, moves from a traditional maintenance plant to a pro-active, dynamic and digital workflow, helping to

• Reduce unplanned downtime
• Optimize maintenance costs

Anomalies are detected trough sensors, or investigated by DOWNTIME REPORTs.

Based on the type of anomalies, maintenance TASKs are generated and addressed to the deputed person who can access to all the informations and complete the job successfully.

As results, through ZERO _App, has been possible to
• increase maintenance efficiency
• and, in general, the overall availability of the plant,
o minimizing unplanned downtime occurrences
o and reducing time required to restart the plant after a failure.

CASE of STUDY — ABACO

The second spotlight, has been addressed to optimize the combustion process inside lime plant.

“How much fuel should I use? Just the bare essential.”

The challenge has been to increase the burning and combustion efficiency,
• Saving fuel
• Reducing thermal losses from the plant
• Minimizing environmental impact

Starting from the assumption that every trace of CO content in waste gas fumes, represent in principle a waste of unburnt fuel, we optimized the process parameters in order to achieve the optimum situation of fuel injection.

ABACO_App creates fuel injection profiles that automatically adjust the burning process in respect of product quality and key process parameters.

The analysis we did, helped to predict and prevent fuel and thermal losses.
Thanks to a better administration of fuel to air ratio, has been saved till to 6000 €/month in terms of fuel saving.
By ABACO injection profiles, the combustion efficiency has been increased up to 2.5 %.

CASE of STUDY — AERO

The latest case of study, investigated the efficiency of the electrical consumption of the installed equipment, because

“Energy saved today is asset for the future.”

We analyzed how to improve electrical power demand by:
• Optimizing the equipment operating conditions,
• increasing their lifespan;
• Predicting failures,

Example of Positive Displacement Blowers installed on QualiCal Plant

We have implemented AERO_App specifically dedicated to manage, in real-time, the process air supplied with positive displacement blowers,
taking automatically decisions on blower selection and speed settings according to the process requirement, plant conditions, environmental limits and historical data series on performance and maintenance.

The Customer and our team of experts, have performed several tests, cross matching the information collected by AERO.

Improving the equipment operating condition, the air supply efficiency has been increased of 26% that can be translated to 500€/day saving.
