In a recent webinar Andy Stanford-Clark talked about the relative ease of accessing an IBM quantum computer and programming it for free.

We followed this up in a recent Quantum Stammtisch conversation and realised that most of our community are hesitant about having a go.

I was delighted when Jude Bowyer approach us to see whether there might be enough interest to start a self-teaching programme where between us we can gain the critical mass and confidence to take some small steps. Hopefully these steps will great and turn into virtuous circle that leads to great things.

The ideas and insight that derive from this should help the depth and quality of the “business impact” discussion at the core of Quantum London’s mission.

A potential approach

As you may be aware IBM offers free access to its fleet of 29 quantum computers via Qiskit.
