It’s not just for your loins.
The ramifications of bad sex extend beyond the bedroom. Dr. Catherine Dukes, LCSW, Therapist and Founder of the Center for Connection & Desire, describes the issue this way: “Nurturing, loving, exciting, fun sex is what distinguishes partner relationships from friendships or roommate relationships. Sex and erotic connection are a key that gives your relationship life, deep connection, joy, and creativity.”
To inspire this creativity, Dukes suggests letting go and having fun in the bedroom.
“Explore unshared fantasies or just fun bedroom ideas,” she told me. “Laughter and awkwardness are welcome in the bedroom. Something you awkwardly try today might be your favorite sexual technique the third or fourth time you try it.”
