My Dad, My Hero: Father’s Day with Darren & Mia
With the run up to Father’s Day in mind, we wanted to catch up a very special father-daughter-duo, Darren and Mia to learn a little bit more about their special relationship and see how they will be spending Father’s Day this year.
Darren is one of our Pro Quiqees who you might recognise from April’s edition of our ‘Meet Our Quiqees’ feature, and Mia is his daughter who is 8 years old, and very much a daddy’s little girl!
What’s your favourite thing to do together?
Mia: We go to the park lots. We go to this really fun park sometimes and there’s this little zip wire thing and I always go on it. Last night time when I went with my cousins and my Daddy, I got the hang of it and I did it!
What’s the thing that makes you laugh the most about your daddy?
Mia: When he does a silly face, because sometimes he does silly faces and it really makes me laugh!
Do you have brothers and sisters?
Mia: Yes, i’m the youngest!
What do your brothers and sisters think of your daddy?
Mia: I don’t know, but I’m the favourite!
Darren: She’s Daddy’s little cupcake — she’s got a t-shirt that says that…
What’s your favourite thing about Mia, Daddy?
Darren: She is just always really happy and content. She is also very creative and does loads of drawing and painting. We spend lots of time together and do lots of stuff — trampolining, swimming and all sorts!
Have you got any plans for Father’s Day this year?
Mia: I’m going to sleep at Daddy’s house the night before so I can make breakfast for him!
What is Daddy’s favourite breakfast?
Mia: I’m not sure — something yummy!
And have you got him a present yet? (we whispered so Daddy couldn’t hear, don’t worry!)
Mia: I’m going to do him a drawing from me!
