How to Play — CBT
Hello, Tamers!
The Closed Beta Test (CBT) is just around the corner, and we’re excited to provide you with a detailed guide on how to get started. For instructions on downloading the game, please refer to our previous article. If you haven’t read it yet, make sure to check it out.
Logging into the Game After Downloading
After downloading the game via TestFlight or Google Play (depeding on your device), you’ll need to log in.
If you’ve already linked your email and wallet on our website, simply log in with that email. Your wallet will automatically connect in-game, allowing you to view and use any NFTs you own.
If you haven’t linked your email and wallet yet, please do so on our website before attempting to log in. Failing to link your email and Ronin wallet may restrict your ability to participate in certain events, so we strongly recommend taking care of this step first.
To log in via email in the game, follow these steps:
- Log in with the email you registered on the website.
- Enter the verification code sent to your email.
- Complete the login process.
If you’re a Ragmon holder who has linked your email and wallet, you’ll be able to see your Ragmon NFTs in the Deck Setup menu upon login.
Playing the Game
Core Elements
- Monsters: These are the heart of your attack and offense. Monsters vary in rarity and level, with higher levels and rarer monsters being crucial for victory.
- Spells: Your chosen job grants you access to unique spells that can be unleashed in battle. Each job class has its own distinct abilities.
- Towers: Protecting your tower while destroying your opponent’s is key to winning the battle.
Monsters can be enhanced through merging, spells are unlocked as your job level increases, and your tower’s resilience grows with your player level.
Deck Building
- Selection: Build a deck by selecting a combination of monster and spell cards, each with its own unique attributes, tailored to your strategy.
- Capacity: Your deck can hold up to 8 cards, allowing for a balanced mix of offense and defense.
- Hand: At the start of the battle, 4 cards from your deck are randomly drawn into your hand, ready to be played.
The Battle
- Soul Energy: Battles begin with 8 soul energy, which you use to summon monsters or cast spells. Soul energy regenerates over time, so strategic timing is crucial for victory.
- Autonomous Combat: Monsters act automatically, engaging enemies based on the strategy you’ve set up with your deck. Your job is to draw the cards on the right moment and to place your monsters on the perfect spot on the battle field that best suits your strategy.
- Strategic Interventions: Use job spells to influence the course of the battle, employing effects that can stun, damage, or otherwise disrupt your opponents.
CBT Events
During the CBT, our goal is to let as many players as possible experience a variety of Ragmons, including their stats, skills, and the benefits of merging them to level up. To facilitate this, we’ll be offering off-chain Ragmons as daily rewards and through various event activities.
Make sure to claim these off-chain Ragmons through events and rewards, and use them to explore the game fully. This experience will help you determine which deck to build, which Ragmons to prioritize, and how best to merge and level up your collection.
Please note that all off-chain rewards earned during the CBT are only usable within this testing period. Once the CBT ends, all data will be reset, and only your account, nickname, and NFT holdings will carry over to the Open Beta Test (OBT). All off-chain items used during the CBT will be wiped.
For a complete list of events happening during the CBT, refer to the following article. We hope this helps you make the most of the CBT!
On-chain and Off-chain Ragmons
In ROMW, players can earn off-chain Ragmons through gameplay (mainly by winning) or by purchasing them via traditional in-app purchases (IAPs), often through random boxes. Off-chain Ragmons are generally less unique and take longer to acquire than on-chain Ragmons.
Merging off-chain Ragmons into on-chain versions requires the same number of NFTs plus additional off-chain items like Gold and Spell Books, which can be earned through gameplay. Some rare Ragmons, like Irochi, are only available as on-chain NFTs, making them especially valuable.
Off-chain Ragmons cannot be traded or exchanged with other players. However, they can be converted into on-chain Ragmons in the future after a cooling period. This conversion requires burning $Zeny tokens. Users will be able to use this feature upon launch. Experience in CBT about the difference in on-chain and off-chain Ragmons to plan for your future strategy.
To maintain the value of on-chain Ragmons, the conversion cost will be carefully managed and adjusted based on the on-chain Ragmon floor price, monitored by developers and eventually by the DAO.
This conversion feature will only be available after the $Zeny token is live, ensuring the game’s economic stability. Further details will be provided in future updates.
