Hello fellow story lovers/tellers,

We’ve a challenge for you this time. Last time, we asked our readers to submit their applications for writing stories in pairs on Random Tales. And boy, you’ve overwhelmed us. We’ve received 23 applications in total in the last seven days and it must be noted that some of them contained brilliant ideas.

Apurva, Sahil, and I, Mohit had to discuss it for a long time about how to accommodate most of these writers without overwhelming our readers with too many stories to consume simultaneously. And we came up with a new series called Random Tiny Tales.

Random Tiny Tales

As the name suggests, this experiment works in the exact same manner as Random Tales except that each tale has to be told within 150 words and the story shall be completed in 7 tales. Here’s how writers are to proceed:

  1. A pair of writer teams up to tell a story. Every writer writes a tale on alternate days for 7 consecutive days.
  2. Each tale in the story must be less than 150 words long.
  3. Each tale must be complete in itself and connected to the preceding tales. Of course, it can have unrevealed mysteries, unanswered questions, but must be a complete scene in itself.
  4. A story must be completed in exact 7 tales, Monday through Sunday.

Random Tiny Tale begins this Monday, September 05, 2016. We’ll be sending out invites to selected pairs of writers by Sunday midnight. We’ll try to accommodate as many as we can but we will have a filter too to keep the quality top notch for our readers.

We will also be providing a dedicated space on Random Tales to each story that we select. Everyone who wants to tell a story, can do it now.

How to Apply

If you have already sent in your submissions to write full length stories on Random Tales, we’ll get back to you over an email inviting you. You do not need to do anything else.

If you haven’t, you can apply specifically for this series by sending in the following details on editorsofrandomtales[at]gmail[dot]com.

  1. Pitch for your story (in 60 words or less).
  2. Links to the Medium and Twitter profiles of both the writers.
  3. The first of the seven tales in the story.

We’ll be sending out invites to the selected pairs of writers by Sunday midnight.

Looking to receive story synopses by all you great writers!

This is all part of a story. Let’s create an epic.
