It’s that time again! Welcome to the spooooOOOOoooky October edition of our Product Report Card, a regular feature where, in the interest of transparency and accountability, we review our progress against the product roadmap .

Results

We’ve been hard at working shipping our first themed pack(!), but that doesn’t mean we weren’t cranking away at the backlog as well. Let’s take a look at what was scheduled for October:

Performance optimizations across the board. (Site is super slow at the moment.)

Check! We’ve invested in performance improvements, and are seeing faster load times and better development speed.

Initial versions of API access and CSV download for certain players.

Check! Who likes data? Head on over to the analytics page for CSV downloads, and munge those sweet sweet numbers to your spreadsheet-loving heart’s content.

💰 Balance purchases! Purchase collectible from another player directly using balance, skipping the marketplace, for certain players.

Check! If you’ve got enough cash in your balance and the right card in your hand, you can skip the marketplace and do a handshake deal.

First official rare cards begin appearing on the platform.

Check! Our first rare card, Extraordinary Insight, was airdropped to O.G.A.F. players.

Significant analytical capabilities related to card sets added for certain players.

Check! Head on over to `/analytics` to see all sorts of data. Learn even more with Extraordinary Insight.

📦 Drop 5 featuring priority access for certain players.

Nope! Our first miss this month. This continues to be a high priority, but fell a little behind schedule. Expect to see this one soon.

Clarity regarding patterns related to mint counts and size of sets.

Check! We’ve started publishing this sort of information, and will continue to do so going forward.

🎶 Audio player enhancements, mostly to do with playlists and more easily being able to listen to all the music in your library without having to go into individual collectibles.

Another miss! We believe Music Is Valuable, and we’re working furiously behind the scenes on this one. Stay tuned.

✈️ First bonus airdrops accomplished via the platform directly by creators, versus informally via email.

And another miss. Airdrops will come soon, but not before Halloween.

So what’s the final count?

So that’s six hits and three misses; trivially better than last month. There’re also a few things we shipped that weren’t in the roadmap:

  1. our Liner Notes series, regularly updating the community on new features, bug fixes, and gameplay,
  2. a new coat of paint on the Home page,
  3. the ability to Log In via Discord,
  4. throttling back-to-back pack sales so more people have a chance to buy,
  5. In-store Credit allowing users to can spend their proceeds and to (again) make purchases with Crypto.
  6. a better confirmation email when making purchases, and finally
  7. UX improvements, including viewing (and sorting!) collectibles as a list

So… do get credit for six plus another seven? Is that 13 hits and three misses out of nine targets? Help me with my math, that’s….umpteen thousand percent?

In all seriousness, what does that tell us? That our product / engineering velocity is pretty damn impressive (shout out to the product, design, and engineering teams!). That the September roadmap becomes less and less relevant as time goes on. And, most importantly, that we still have a bunch of awesome features we’re excited to ship.

See you all in the community chat!
