I Gained 4,000 Followers In 63 Days On Medium — How To Do It?
8 days ago I wrote a story about getting 3,000 followers on Medium.
My Growth had been incredible. I Joined the Medium Partner Program on the 1st of January.
This said, it means, I got 4,000 followers in 63 days on Medium.
First of all — I wanted to say “Thank You”. To my readers, to the people who are just passing by.
You helped me a lot.
During these 2 months, I build an audience and an income.
The best thing about it is that I enjoyed doing it…I was writing a story every day for this long. It’s an incredible commitment.
- Each day check stats (haha, can’t without that it’s like an addiction)
- Analyzing the best-performing stories…
Growing.
I learned a lot and I want to share my knowledge to help you grow an audience in 2024.
Starting is slow
You will start slow. Everyone does and that’s okay. I got 99% of my progress in February.
January I was writing for almost “nothing”?
Yes and no.
I was building in the future. All the stories you are writing now will be here to back you in the future. Don’t focus on stats focus on the output.
I know it’s tough at the beginning when you are writing a story for an hour and nothing happens. You shouldn’t be worried. Work hard and it will pay off.
But how to write good stories?
Serve Your Audience
To build an audience you should serve them. You are the person who has the experience and the knowledge — that’s your currency.
Transform that into words and you are a winner.
Here are some tips :
- Write are clearly as possible (One idea at a time)
- Enlighten
- Motivate your reader
Remember, each piece of content is a service to your reader, your reader should not be lost. You have solved some problems → help your reader solve the same problems by sharing your methods.
If you help he will remember and if he remembers he will read again.
Social Skills helps
Another very important way to grow is — interaction.
People on Medium are extremely friendly and always care about how and what you are doing. Interacting with other people’s posts, leaving a meaningful comment, and supporting them helped me to build connections.
These connections are helping your growth. Don’t worry go to the comment section and tell the world about you. If you don’t no one will do it for you.
Your future is in your hands.
Try and Collect
Try different forms of writing :
Big/Small paragraphs, Short/Long texts, etc…
You learn by trying and failing. After trying a lot of different forms of writing you have collected enough data.
Then Analyse :
Check your story stats and try to understand;
Why does this type of story perform well?
What’s the difference with stories that flopped?
Find similarities and reasons. I always analyze each story. Sometimes it’s not about the story but the publishing time.
Writing is about understanding your audience.
Confidence
Don’t be afraid to give your opinion. Of course, some people will judge you.
But who cares?
One of my most successful posts was maybe risky to publish. It is controversial. Finally, it became successful.
Every time you start doing something you need to be confident. No one will do it for you. Success comes by taking risks.
I know because I failed a lot. A lot of my stories are getting a few views. Of course, I’m disappointed but I learned to overcome that and continue.
On your way to your goals, you should never forget why you started initially.
This way you’ll never quit.
