A Flowing River is a Sign of Endless Hope
Nature prompt: Second week of February
“The river is such a tranquil place, a place to sit and think of romance and the beauty of nature, to enjoy the elegance of swans and the chance of a glimpse of a kingfisher.”
– Jane Howarth
One of the greatest works of art ever created is The River. The river is calm, serene, and yet strong all at once. Because flowing is in a river’s nature, doing so benefits the entire ecosystem. As a result, it teaches us to be authentic to our humanity.
Reaching the Ocen River required a pleasant, strong, passionate, and adventurous journey. A river can be smooth, easygoing, playful, and genial as well as frightful, aggressive, powerful, and threatening. On one day, you might find the river unsettling, while on another, you might find it friendly. The same may be said for life however, not every day is the same.
I always feel hopeful whenever I see the water. One of the most important lessons it teaches us is that, despite numerous victories along the way, the flow never stops. No matter the time of year or the day, it will continue to flow. Simply keep moving forward in your life, no matter how many setbacks you encounter along the way. Don’t give up and keep going.

“Rivers don't drink their own waters; trees don't eat their own fruits. The salt seasons the soup in order to have its purpose fulfilled. Live for others!”
- Israelmore Ayivor
One of the most important lessons we can learn from nature is that if we give to others and live for others, our lives will be fulfilled.
