How I changed everything by getting rejected

Hey Re-inventors!

This is Day 9 of the series. Find out everything about the series here.

How rejection has changed a lot in my life

I was never like this. I was the laziest child you could find.

I used to sleep 10 hours a day, watch TV all day, eat junk food and all kinds of sweets and cakes and got really fat. My weight was 70 kg(154 pounds) when my height was just 5 feet and 4 inches and I had no muscle.

That was terrible. My friends used to call me names and that irritated me so much. But I was never the fighting guy so I did not indulge myself into a fight with them(although I wanted to)

I also used to play basketball but because of my weight I could never run fast like my team mates. My handles were nice but the game is a game of speed and I lost every time due to that.

As I grew up, I lost some of my weight but my eating habits were shitty and I was still fat af.

💀 I got rejected for the national basketball trials💀

My coach did not pay much attention towards me.

I felt like the whole world is going ahead of me and I was losing.

I reduced playing basketball then. From 7 days a week I came down to playing 3 days a week and that too casually(because I had nothing else to do at home)

Then there was one day when I decided once and for all that I have to fix everything.

I went to the park and started running, right that second. I had no idea what workout I had to do or anything else, I just ran till I had to stop. It was terrible though; I ran for 3–4 minutes at moderate speed and was dead tired.

I changed my diet. I removed all the sweets and oily stuff.

Fast forward one year. I was not as consistent as I wanted to be but I lost some weight. I was still not satisfied. I only did cardio and now I knew I had to start doing some weight training to take my fitness to a whole new level.

Soon, on my birthday I ordered a pair of weights, dumbbells, barbells and a bench. YouTube was my teacher and I started doing the workouts in my room. When I got stronger and then after some time I joined the gym. It has been some time since then and I have put on some amount of muscle.

But now I am a completely different person and I give it all to my work ethic.

There are some leaks in my work ethic that I am aware of. I am trying my best to remove them to improve my work ethic

Improvement in fitness has translated to every aspect of my life making me the happiest that I have ever been!

The day was just a lot of work that is all I can say.

There is one mistake I made and that is I missed my ab workout today which is absolutely not justified. I’ll make sure not to repeat that again.

I have been working more these days than usual however tomorrow I will not be able to as I have a family get together. So I have to go there and it will take a lot of my time.

But I guess, it’s unavoidable and sometimes you just can’t say no.

That was the end of Day 9 and I will see you guys tomorrow(not exactly, but you get it right?)
