Relex Development and a Vietnamese district government have agreed to mutual cooperation, signaling the first official approval between the blockchain real estate development funding platform and a Vietnamese local government after a weekend of charity work together in Northern Vietnam.

The agreement came after Relex CEO Keith Hilden and Latin American marketing director Andrea Romaoli Garcia were invited to a governmental benevolence mission by a deputy director of Si Ma Cai district, Lao Cai province.

The pair joined a charity and development trip to help children and their families living in highland regions endure the winter weather and difficult living conditions with supplies of rice, instant noodles, and winterwear.

During the trip, municipal authorities inquired further about Relex, and explained that they would like to cooperate with Relex Development. They suggested plans to build a university in Si Ma Cai District and begin construction of a road approximately located at the border frontier region between China and Vietnam.

The Si Ma Cai district government will present a profile of Si Ma Cai and its targeted investment projects. The district government will provide details regarding projects it would like to cooperate on with the Relex community in time for Relex’s Myanmar-based conference on Feb. 9.

This marks the first official direct governmental cooperation on developmental projects between Relex Development and a local government in Vietnam.

Garcia, an ambassador to the United Nations and international blockchain lawyer, has focused intently on how blockchain solutions could improve lives in developing regions.

Carrying bags of rice with the words “Happy New Year, -Relex,” the Relex team distributed the necessary supplies to people in need along the northernmost regions of Vietnam where winter temperatures can drop below freezing. Although temperatures average between 39℉ and 54℉, January 2016 saw the coldest month in the area in history, with a frigid 16℉ surprising residents of the isolated, usually temperate region. Lunar New Year is Tuesday, Feb. 5.

The Relex team has already been approached by authorities from another province in Viet Nam to conduct a developmental trip there as well. With official governmental approval from Vietnamese authorities, Relex Development will proceed with placing the relevant projects for investor cooperation onto the Relex Capital platform soon.

The instance of an American company operating in the field of development in the Northernmost province of Vietnam is an unprecedented action, and is a solid step towards further improving Vietnamese-American relations.

While part of the team was busy in Northern Vietnam on this charity and development trip, another part of the Relex team was busy in Switzerland this weekend at the Blockchain Economic Forum.

The Relex team joins government officials on a mission to deliver helpful supplies like food and clothing to the frontier regions of north Vietnam.
