We’re delighted to welcome another new talent to the REMME team, and a high profile one at that. If the name Sid Desai sounds familiar to you, that’s probably because we’ve mentioned him before in his capacity as an advisor to REMME. Sid’s now made the decision to step up and formally join the REMME team as a core member, and we couldn’t be happier.

As an advisor, Sid Desai is already intimately familiar with the solution we’re developing, and has been a great advocate for REMME. It says a lot for his belief in the project, and in where he sees his future, that he’s elected to leave one of the web’s largest Certificate Authority company, and join our team as Head of Business Development and Enterprise Sales.

Sid will lead our USA sales office, and head our global business development. You can find further information about more about his past experience, including his time with early IoT projects and academic qualifications, here.

Explaining his reasons for joining REMME, Sid said: “Having been involved with many aspects of Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) in my career at a Certificate Authority, and deploying countless authentication and certificate management solutions, I have seen many things that were done right. But I’ve also seen a whole lot more that could be done better. When I was presented with the opportunity to join REMME as an advisor initially, and then as Head of Business Development, accepting the proposal came easily thanks to two simple reasons:

1. Trust-by-Computation > Trust-by-Authority

2. REMME’s intense focus on getting rid of passwords

Today’s authentication solutions, both consumer-facing as well as business-facing, have come a long way. But it amazes me that as an industry, even today, we are massively hedging our data security and privacy on the dreaded password. For me personally, this is the most important aspect as to why the REMME project is so important. Cutting our ties with “the password” is something that should’ve been done a long time ago, and in the age of distributed trust, REMME is perfectly positioned to do just that.

With a combination of an incredibly talented team of technical folks along with focused leadership, REMME has a lot going for it. I’m looking forward to seeing REMME-powered apps and services as a go-to standard for most, if not all, authentication systems someday. It is a great privilege and honor to be part of such an awesome project and I look forward to continue helping build this ecosystem.”

Sid is certain to be a real asset to REMME and we’re fortunate to have him on board. Given the importance of pilot projects in demonstrating the utility and security of our PKI (d) protocol, finalizing North American partnerships with enterprises is a top priority.

Sid Desai will oversee our team in this strategic region for REMME’s pilot program, and we look forward to concluding many more partnerships in the months to come, moving us closer to our goal of eliminating passwords and creating a secure internet for enterprises and their customers.
