Re Human Day 88
Re-inventing ourselves has always been the most important skill. I’m re-inventing myself by improving in 15 areas at a time. This post is part of my Re Human project.
Today I shared “my Re Human Day” on @re.human Instagram — basically a video or a photo of each of my habits, like a “day in the life of”.
Daily Habits
Books: Today I continued listening to Can’t Hurt Me. Some notes from today:
Write down all the things that are holding you back, your biggest problems. Harness these, use them to your advantage.
All change is based on repetition. And self discipline.
Meditation: 20 minutes in the morning. Did two meditations from Sam Harris’ Waking Up app.
Re Human Extended Activity: Thursdays I’m a Music Producer.
Today I continued working on the project currently called Dec8, because of the day I started it. I need a melody so I spent a good amount of time on Splice trying to find one. Didn’t find one that fits what I’m looking for but I found a lot of cool sounds that I organized by vibes, from this Oliver Sample Pack. Then I had the idea of using the chords generator app I had downloaded some time ago to create a melody. I “generated” a couple of them, and exported one I liked and imported the MIDI into my Logic X project. Played around with what instrument to choose, and for now I chose an Arpeggiator called “Digiwave Cycles”. Sounds cool but I’m not sure it fits with the existing sounds — I think there’s a better melody out there/in my mind.
Writing: This post, code, and a daily thought.
Digital Drawing & Painting:
Continued drawing the leaf, trying to follow Gal Shir’s Drawing:
Fitness: Trained muscle ups & wide pull ups, abs, handstand push ups, human flag, burpees.
Piano: Practiced the La La Land song.
Soccer trick juggling: Today I was able to do a max of 3 around the worlds in a row, one of them being the cool trick I came up with Naryan yesterday — where you do the around the world directly as the ball is rolling towards you. Uploaded this to Instagram.
Random Surprise
A couple of “Magic Words” from the book Exactly What to Say: The Magic Words for Influence and Impact. My full notes here.
“Just out of curiosity”: to preface most direct, hard/unusual questions.
“Most people”: to convince.
“How open-minded are you?”: before introducing a new idea. Everyone thinks they’re openminded.
