With NFT.NYC 2023 in the rearview and the final Snapshot votes for RNP’s 002 and 003 now live, this week’s BTN has something for every member of the expanding Render Network community. Without further delay, let’s dive into some of the highlights:

RNP Final Votes

The final votes for RNP’s 002 and 003 are currently open, slated to close next Tuesday (4/25) at 5pm PT. For anyone that has not been keeping abreast of these RNPs, RNP-002: Layer 1 Network Expansion and RNP-003: Resource Acquisition and Allocation for Core Team and Grants, were released last month alongside the linked primers. Over the last month the Render Network Discord community have helped the Render Network Foundation team through impassioned discussions surrounding these two RNPs.

With the discourse factored into the two proposals, both proposals went up for an initial community vote on April 3rd, both passing with an over 50% majority approval to move onto further consideration. With approval from the Render Network team they have now both reached the final vote to decide if they will be implemented on the Render Network in the future, officially being added to the Render Network roadmap.

To participate in these votes, please go to the Snapshot pages for RNP-002 and RNP-003 linked here, and if you are new to Snapshot, follow our signup guide here so you can make your voice heard!

NFT.NYC 2023

NFT.NYC 2023 saw many of the leading digital artists and Render Network users pushing the boundaries of next generation media, continuing to move blockchain technology and 3D forward. The conference brought together some of the most talented 3D artists, collectors, and Web3 experts from around the world for a week of incredible events in New York City.

From inspiring talks to collaborative immersive experiences, there were many opportunities to connect with like-minded individuals and gain new inspiration and insight into the evolving world of digital art. This event solidified its position as a must-attend extravaganza for anyone looking to keep up with the cutting edge of 3D technology and digital art. Throughout the week, the Render Network team attended numerous exciting events that combined both of these two worlds. Here are some highlights:

Pudgy Penguins

One of the most successful and fastest growing Web3 communities of 2022–2023, hosted an event for their community featuring immersive 360 visuals — all rendered on the Render Network. The studio behind Pudgy Penguins 3D work, Bureaux Studios, uses the Render Network for their entire rendering workflow, having become one of the network’s biggest new users in the past year.

LVCIDIA

The NFT.NYC Event hosted by NolchaShows, more than anything, was a celebration of technology and art, and the Render Network team was able to experience it firsthand.

FVCKRENDER, founder of LVCIDIA

With over 50 artists and 1500+ attendees, the 25,000 square foot venue at Brooklyn’s House of Vans, once a concert venue and skate park used by Vans, was filled with stunning 3D creations at every turn. Render Network power user and creator, FVCKRENDER, was one of two artists given the opportunity to fill the entire venue with a 360 degree display that brought LVCIDIA to life for his collectors and friends. This event pushed the boundaries to prove what is possible in the ever evolving world of technology and art.

Beeple

Stunned audiences once again had a front row seat to creating a live Everyday with web3’s largest art focused communities Proof Collective and Moonbirds. The magical interactive PROOF x BEEPLE art performance had Beeple working off a laptop running OctaneRender, creating a live Everyday projected in real time to audiences.

Once again the real-time speed of Octane was on display, as well as the potential for immersive and interactive 3D art experiences powered by Render Network’s distributed computing, which was showcased at Breakpoint. Here’s a photo recap of the special event for 400 lucky NFT enthusiasts.

Crypt Gallery

The Crypt Gallery, the world’s first permanent NFT Gallery in the Hospitality Industry at the Dream Downtown Hotel in NYC (also in LA), hosted its first live event this year. This year, King of Midtown gathered headline names in the industry including artists, collectors, and their community for part 2 of his multi-city tour and largest event yet. The exhibition featured over 80 permanent displays from a select few artists.

A few Render Network friends were also in attendance at the NFT100 as well:

Render Network Meet-Up

For those lucky enough to attend, a group of Render Network users — some of the leading 3D and NFT artists and a small group of the Render Network community, including Andrew Hyde from The Render Foundation, were able to come together in NYC to casually discuss the future of the network.

What’s Next?

Next week we will be sharing metrics from the first quarter of 2023 on the Render Network, as well as recapping the votes from RNP-002 and RNP-003.
