Recreating Life or Living in a Tale
Reply to Living in a Fantasy, a beautiful text published on Scribe, by Thomas Gaudex.
Thomas Gaudex wonders whether there is a fantasy world or whether it is up to us to create it on what we call Earth. His beautiful witticisms lead me to draw my own daydreams.
When I was a very little soul I dreamed so much… I made many stories in my head — I often imagined myself saving lives or being admired by people who rejected me. I guess my inner world held realities that I longed for. These dream facts were welcoming me in an unknown land.
Over time, I acquired firmer and more real ideas. I discovered things about myself. I loved books — I love them now. I wanted to live through them in every possible way. I tended to crave so many new things. I thought of myself as a librarian, but also as a writer. Oh, and most importantly, I thought of myself as a free spirit.
Just as Thomas wishes in his vivid and lyrical prose, I just wanted to be part of a world full of love and life. I could join him and open that magical portal as well. That is to say, I could bring those reveries closer to me again.
Nonetheless, I would definitely come back. I could not live in a fantasy world for long; in other words, I prefer to deal with the reality because only what is part of time, this time, can be recalled.
Thanks to Thomas for making me reflect on my own real life.
