When we hear the word warlord
It conjures up tribal oppression in Africa,
Fanatic Jihadist groups in the Middle East,
Syrian and North Korean leaders
Who do not abide by Western rule,
Refusing their corporate banking systems.

Denying self-analysis,
We look away when close to home,
American presidents arming
The Saudi and Zionist regimes,
Starting wars to test the latest tech
On a people unable to defend themselves,
Weaponizing Europe on Russia's borders.
Who are the warlords here?

Britain’s BAE Systems, Europe’s
Largest arms manufacturer supplying the Saudis
“Until they say they no longer need them,”
I’m sure the people of Yemen, along with
The bombed Red Cross and MSF hospitals,
Would have something to say to the
Lobbying suits high up in the British government.

These are the warlords dressed up all fancy,
Hosting their arms fairs proudly around the world,
Selling to any violators of human rights,
As long as they have a Western bank account.

“Hey, they have the right to buy, and we have the right to sell.”
Buyers leave all stocked piled up from their host’s capitals of shame,
Eager to go and test their purchase,
“Let’s go find us some cattle to kill.”
