1 Getting Started

This is legacy content from our support platform, which is not already covered elsewhere in our blog.

Please note that following the decommission of our RialtoTrade.com platform at the end of October 2019, some information below may be outdated or no longer relevant (such as references to our support platform for example, which is no longer available). For all support queries please follow instructions on the RialtoTrade.com home page.

1.1 Creating an account

Welcome to our RialtoTrade.com user registration guide.

  • To complete the registration you will require a photograph of your ID document, such as a passport or an ID card (driver’s license is not accepted), a scan, a photograph or a print-screen of a utility bill, bank statement, tax return or a similar document as proof of address and a selfie picture of yourself holding your ID document (please be careful not to cover important information) and a paper with “Rialto Trade” hand written on. Once you have the required documents and photographs you can begin the process.

NB: Please note that we can only accept documents in Latin alphabet, so do not submit documents in Chinese or other logogram scripts as they will be automatically rejected.

  • Click Register and Type in your email and password. Password should be at least 8 characters with at least 1 capital letter, 1 number and 1 special character. Confirm that you have read and understood our terms of use and click Create Account
  • Next, read the privacy policy and click OK to confirm that you understand and accept it. You will receive an email with a confirmation link. Please click on the link to confirm your email address.
  • Once your account is confirmed click on the Login button to log into the platform. Click on My Account > Verification to begin the verification process.
  • Type in your First name(s), Last name(s) (BE SURE TO ENTER ALL NAMES AND SURNAMES), select your Gender and Citizenship, type in the Date of birth — but please mind the correct format and enter the date as day, month, year or click on the down arrow and select from the calendar. Finally, tick the box if you are a politically exposed person.
  • Next, enter your Permanent residence address and click on Next Step to continue to the documents section.
  • In the documents section select your document type and enter the relevant details such as the Passport number, Issue date and Expiration date.
  • Then it’s time to upload the document photo. If you’re using a Passport, please upload a photo of both pages at the front of the document.
  • For proof of residence you can use many different types of documents which contain your address, such as a bank statement, tax return, gas, electricity, TV, broadband or telephone bill. Please note only JPG and PNG files of up to 4MB are allowed, but you can take a photo or a screenshot of a digital version of the document, just make sure the picture is sharp and clear. Click Next step to continue.
  • Now it’s time to upload a picture of yourself with the submitted ID document in hand. Again, please make sure that your face and the document are both clearly visible. Click Verify to finish. If your document verification is rejected, you will receive an email explaining why that was the case, so please be sure to look for it before contacting support.
  • Now that your verification request has been successfully submitted, you can click on My verification to review your submission. Please wait to receive the verification confirmation email, which typically takes around one business day. Once you receive the confirmation email, log into your account and your Verification status should be updated to OK. This means that you are now fully verified and can begin to use our platform.

1.2 Creating a business account

To create a business account please select the COMPANY option at the beginning of the registration process. Once your account is created, login to the platform and click on My Account > Verification to begin the verification process. Then submit the KYC verification request form and we will contact you with further instructions.

1.3 Common reasons for KYC rejection

If your account application has been rejected due to KYC failure, please review the following points before resubmitting your application:

1) Low quality images: Please only upload sharp and high resolution images up to 4MB in JPG and PNG formats where the document details can be easily seen.

2) Incorrect selfie image: This should be a photograph of yourself with the document submitted for KYC and a paper with hand written “RialtoTrade” in hand. Please make sure that your face and the document are in focus and clearly visible.

IMPORTANT: Please use the most recent ID document as in some cases it may be difficult to confirm identity if your document photograph is significantly different in terms of hairstyle and facial hair growth.

3) Utility bills and other proof of address documents must be in Latin alphabet and no more than 3 months old.

4) All documents must match with your submitted information (please double check your spelling and include ALL names and surnames). For example the name and address on your passport must match the name and address on your utility bill and the information entered in the text fields.

IMPORTANT: If your address on your proof of address document does not match the address on your ID document, then please send us either a Tax return or a Bank statement as proof of address.

TIP: If your proof of address document is in PDF form or online, you can take a screenshot of it and submit it as a PNG or JPG image that way.

1.5 Product Risk Assessment Information

Product Risk Assessment

General
Rialtotrade Products are in general not capital-protected or guaranteed and Users in each Rialtotrade Product should be prepared for and should be able to sustain losses up to the value of total Investment. The value of an Investment in Products may vary. Past performance is not an indicator of future results. Investment in any Rialtotrade Product brings numerous risks, including, but not limited to, market risk, counterparty risk, operational risk, and other risks included in Terms.

Rialtotrade operates primarily in cryptocurrency market. Cryptocurrencies are characterized by a lack of central authority, generally underdeveloped legal means, high risk of market manipulation etc.

Rialtotrade shall not be held legally responsible for any frauds, manipulations, adverse mining development for a particular cryptocurrency and other events, which are not under control of Rialtotrade.

Rialtotrade has developed an all-encompassing risk rating scale for its Products, on a scale between 1 (minor risk) and 3 (significant risk), which takes into account all relevant risks (see above) for a particular Product. These ratings are not replacements for User’s due diligence and should be read and interpreted in combination therewith. The User shall seek for a professional advice to understand financial risks in Products before any investment decisions.

NOTE: You are aware and agree that the Product Risk Assessment is of informational nature only and does not in any way predict future outcomes from investments.

1 (minor risk)
The product is exposed to a minor market risk. Mostly only unavoidable risks are present, notably counterparty operational risk (the risk of unprocessed orders on a crypto exchange), counterparty credit risk (the risk of unsettled obligations by a crypto exchange), market liquidity risk (risk of costly liquidation over a short period of time) and operational risk on the side of Rialtotrade.

2 (medium risk)
Based on the Product’s investment policy, the product is exposed to a medium presence of market risk and market volatility risk, in addition to unavoidable risks, notably counterparty risk (tied to crypto exchanges of operations), market liquidity risk (risk of costly liquidation over a short period of time) and operational risk on the side of Rialtotrade.

3 (significant risk)
Products whose investment objective requires frequent trading, significant position changes, including short positions, significant use of leverage or are pilot products, are exposed to a high market risk and market volatility risk, in addition to unavoidable risks, notably counterparty risk (tied to crypto exchanges of operations), market liquidity risk (risk of costly liquidation over a short period of time) and operational risk on the side of Rialtotrade.

1.6 What fees are charged on the platform?

There will be no fees charged in February and March 2019. From 1st April 2019 the following fees will apply.

Table 1: RialtoTrade.com platform fee schedule

In respect of our Services, Rialtotrade shall charge and collect fees from the Users based on the Investments. You agree to pay Rialtotrade the fees for the Usage of Products (“Fees”) in accordance with our Fee Schedule (“Fee Schedule”). Any change shall be notified on the Website and shall apply after the following Processing Date.

Changes to the Fee Schedule are effective as of the effective date indicated in the posting of the revised Fee Schedule and will apply with the following Processing Date.

The Fees shall be charged for the usage of Products. There are five types of Fees: (i) Management fee, (ii) Performance fee, (iii) Exit fee, (iv) Transaction fee.

Management Fee is charged for each Investment in a single Product as a percentage of the Investment made in Base Currency. Management Fee is always determined on a 1- year basis and charged on a daily basis (Annual percentage rate — APR). Management fee is constant and is not dependent on the performance of any Products.
For example: If the management Fee is 2%, Rialtotrade will charge 1/365 of 2% each day of the Investment.

Performance Fee applies to investments in Algorithms and is based on the performance of each Algorithm on a “high watermark principle” (previous highest point), meaning that the basis for the performance fee calculation is Your all-time highest point of effective accumulated trading profit made with Your Investment in the Base currency, in other words, your high-water mark. Performance Fee is charged as a percentage of the difference between the current (at cut-off) value of the accumulated trading profit and Your high-water mark. The cut-off moment to calculate the difference is 12.00 CET daily. Any changes to the cut-off time will be published on the Website before the next Processing Date.

For example: Performance Fee is 20%, User’s asset value is 10 BTC, effective accumulated profit is 0.10 BTC, high water mark is 0.10 BTC and trading profit is 0.05 BTC.

In this example, the performance fee for the day will be calculated as (0.10 BTC + 0.05 BTC — 0.10 BTC) * 0.2

In case of loss: Performance Fee is 20%, User’s asset value is 10 BTC, effective accumulated profit is 0.10 BTC, high water mark is 0.10 BTC and trading loss is 0.01 BTC.

In this example, the performance fee for the day will NOT be charged as the sum of trading loss and accumulated profit (0.10 BTC — 0.01 BTC = 0.09 BTC) is below the high-water mark (0.10 BTC).

Once accumulated profit exceeds the high-water mark, the fee will be charged again, but only on the portion of profit above the high-water mark.

For example: Performance Fee is 20%, User’s asset value is 10 BTC, effective accumulated profit is 0.09 BTC, high water mark is 0.10 BTC and trading profit is 0.05 BTC.
In this example, the performance fee for the day will be charged as follows (0.09 BTC + 0.05 BTC = 0.14 BTC) which is above the high-water mark (0.10 BTC) by 0.04, which is then the basis for fee calculation (0.04 BTC * 0.2).

Disinvestments proportionally reduce the high-water mark.

For example: 30% of assets are disinvested by the User, User’s asset value is 10 BTC, effective accumulated profit is 0.10 BTC, high water mark is 0.12 BTC.

After disinvestment, the effective accumulated profit will be (1–0.3) * 0.1 BTC and the high watermark will be (1–0.3) * 0.12 BTC.

Exit fee is charged when you initiate a Disinvestment Order and is calculated as a percentage of disinvested assets.

Transaction fee: you may get charged by third-party providers when withdrawing your Assets to your Personal Address. You are solely responsible for paying any fees imposed by third persons or the blockchain community (e.g. mining fees).

You authorize Rialtotrade to deduct any Fees directly from the Investments.

1.7 Is there a minimum amount to invest?

There is no minimum to invest, but be mindful of minimum disinvestment amounts (0.0015 BTC/0.05 ETH) and withdrawal fees (0.01 ETH/0.0002 BTC) as very small amounts might not be enough to cover them when you want to disinvest and/or withdraw.

1.8 Platform user guide

We have designed the platform to be extremely user friendly, so you shouldn’t really need a guide for most things, but if you do get stuck/lost somewhere, or if anything is unclear, we have published a detailed step-by-step guide on our Medium blog linked below.

2 Algorithms

2.1 Determining which Algorithm suits you best

Currently the only algorithm available is the Market making and arbitrage algorithm, however we plan to introduce many more in the future.

Market making and arbitrage algorithm bot takes advantage of the price differences between various crypto exchanges. When a market making quote gets filled on one exchange, it is being simultaneously hedged for a small profit on another exchange. By quoting on numerous exchanges and multiple trading pairs, hundreds of trades are made daily and these small profits add up.

Since this algorithm is based on arbitrage, it is delivering relatively stable trading results. Nevertheless, the algorithm is holding almost 80% of its assets in various crypto currencies and hence traders are exposed to price changes of these crypto currencies. The algorithm is appropriate for users who wish to hold their assets in crypto and achieve additional returns.

You can use this algorithm with BTC and ETH. Your assets will be converted into XRP, EUR, USD, BTC, ETH, BCH, DASH, LTC, ZEC, XMR, EOS, BTG and profit will be generated in BTC.

4.11 I can’t log in, what should I do?

If you were previously able to log in normally and you are suddenly unable to, it is usually down to an invalid login cookie, which can happen if you repeatedly enter an incorrect password or 2FA code.

In such cases, please clear your rialtotrade.com cookies or login in an Incognito window on Chrome or Private browsing mode in Firefox.

To clear your cookies in Chrome go to chrome://settings/siteData and click on the trash icon next to rialtotrade.com.

If you have never successfully logged in it’s possible that your account wasn’t migrated to the new platform or there might be another issue. Try to clear the cookies as explained above and reset the password (we recommend Chrome or Firefox desktop browsers) and if that doesn’t work please contact support.

What about 2FA?

If you have lost access to your 2FA codes you can disable 2-factor authentication by ticking the box and entering the 2FA recovery code, which you received during 2FA setup in the 2nd step of the login process.

If you have also lost your 2FA recovery code, then please contact support.

4.12 Why was my account not migrated?

We only migrated accounts which were fully KYC verified and compliant with our Terms of use.

If your account was not migrated you should create a new one and complete the KYC process in order to use our platform.

4.13 How were the funds migrated from the old platform?

Following user feedback all assets that were left on the old platform have been transferred into either the market making algorithm (MM/ARB algorithm assets) or into the US Dollar basket (AI bot assets). This includes any non invested assets, and offline MM/ARB profit, but not leftover profit from the Rialto.ai platform. Any profit remaining on the old platform was transferred into your new ETH wallets.

You will no longer find XRL tokens on the new platform since you can now directly control your DAP assets and eligible users have also received an offer for free preferred shares in Rialto AG as explained in this Medium post.

If you still hold XRL tokens that you have not deposited to our Rialto.ai platform before it was taken offline, here’s how you can exchange them for Ethereum starting on 16th March 2019.

  1. Send any remaining XRL tokens to the token contract address 0x0886B14Ad9919DbfDFc5Ac76665A462B4641A44f
  2. You will automatically receive ETH to the address from which you sent your XRL tokens

NB: Given the ongoing storage costs, the assets reserved for the XRL token exchange cannot be held for an unlimited period of time. iTrade LTD reserves the right to charge a storage fee of 1.5% per month for holding the reserved assets, therefore we would encourage all remaining XRL token holders to redeem their XRL tokens at the earliest opportunity.

For the most up to date XRL/ETH exchange rate please see our XRL token exchange policy.

If you encounter any issues with the automated XRL token exchange, please let us know by contacting support via the “Help” link in the footer of the platform.

Please note that citizens of any restricted countries (such as US for example) who were KYC approved for the purposes of free share distribution on the old platform, are not eligible to use our new platform and were therefore not migrated. All such users should contact us via this help desk and request withdrawal of their funds if they haven’t already.

4.14 Are my XRL tokens now worthless?

Since the new platform no longer supports XRL tokens they were delisted from all exchanges, however that does not make them worthless. They are still worth their share of the DAP assets. See point 4.13 of this guide on how to redeem them for ETH.

4.15 I am a US citizen and can’t complete KYC, what now?

Most users who are citizens of countries on the restricted list (such as US for example) and deposited their XRL tokens to the old platform for the purposes of free share distribution have been migrated but not enabled on the new platform. You can login and withdraw your assets though, you just can’t invest in any of our products.

Users who deposited their XRL tokens after the cutoff date were not migrated. If you are one of those users please contact support in order to manually withdraw your underlying DAP assets.

If you still hold XRL tokens which you have not deposited to our Rialto.ai platform before it was taken offline, see point 4.13 of this guide on how to redeem them for ETH.

4.16 How can I redeem my XRL tokens now that they are no longer supported?

If you still hold XRL tokens which you have not deposited to our Rialto.ai platform before it was taken offline, see point 4.13 of this guide on how to redeem them for ETH.
