Happy November, The Month of being Thankful for your blessings!

This week I decided to read “Big Magic” by Elizabeth Gilbert, this book is a reminder that we all have magic inside of us just waiting to be explored.

I will be discussing:

1. Re-Igniting Our Creativity

2. Inspired By The Ordinary

3. Don’t Fear Your Passions

And be sure to read my last blog on “Book Review: Push Through Your Fears In Life” & “FREE Download: November Desktop Wallpapers”.

If I could some up this book into one word it would have to be the word Terror: extreme fear.

1. Re-Igniting Our Creativity

Burn out affects us all differently but it can still stifle our creativity, it can seem even harder to push through when a deadline is hanging over you. Try to take a break which may seem unproductive but can actually reignite your creativity.

Grab a snack, exercise for 30 minutes and read or watch something that relates to what your stuck on and something that doesn’t. Look for a new approach by creating an outline for the task at hand, minimize the distractions around you and focus on your next creative idea.

2. Inspired By The Ordinary

The impact of simply changing your environment can shift the way we think just from our posture from sitting in a chair. Or switching to a new desk, for example, if your office is typically dirty and scattered with papers. But, when you decide to complete your work at your kitchen table and grabbing a snack your productivity, may increase.

Going outside for a walk or meditating in a public park can reignite you and help you think of your next million-dollar idea. Sitting in the bliss of the nature around you and just taking a moment to stop thinking about deadlines and replying to emails and shifting that focus on the wind flowing through the trees around you. This helps me significantly with my anxiety when I feel like I am drowning in my work and unsure on what assignment to complete first, this simple pause in my day re-centers me.

3. Don’t Fear Your Passions

When we have big dreams and goals those around us think that their helping us by giving a reality check so that we can become more practical. Even though everything inside of us telling us to make the leap and follow our passions, a great way to help your family get on board is by creating a plan.

Because there will be hard times as you work towards your passion but the pressure can be relieved with the people who support you most. Changing your mindset from what if I fail to what if it works, this is something I constantly battle with. I am always in a battle on whether or not to give my self permission to go after what I really want, but when I shoot my shot I learn a lot along the way no matter if I make the shot.

Would I Buy Or Read Again?

Can I see myself re-reading Elizabeth Gilbert’s book “Big Magic” again? NO! Can I see myself even purchasing “Big Magic”? No, this book is worthy of being on my bookshelf the author’s advice has a one size fits all model that simply doesn’t fit my life or future. But at least the cover is cute.

The Question of the Week is inspired by Elizabeth Gilbert’s book “Big Magic”. How do you unlock the magic inside yourself?

Answer: By surrounding myself around good people and a positive environment.
