Today we’re excited to unveil Rive, a new brand for our company and our product.

For some time now, we’ve wanted to consolidate our previous company name, 2Dimensions, with our primary product, Flare. We launched Flare just under a year ago and over this year, it’s become abundantly clear that the future of our company is in this product. We want to send a strong message to our users that we’re seriously investing in the product and growing the team.

Consolidating the name of the company and the product is also a clear way to simplify our messaging and demonstrate our focus.

At first, the logical solution seemed to be to change our company name to Flare. We love the simplicity and the play on words (add “Flare” to your app). But we soon realized that it’s a ubiquitous word, used by many other companies, brands, and products.

In short, we needed a brand that represented the qualities we love about our company and its personality but was also something that we can grow, protect, and call our own.

Updated Website

Along with announcing our new name, we’re also updating our website to Rive.app. Our current users will notice that the site is simpler and clearer.

What About Nima?

Nima was our very first product. It’s the foundation off which Rive is built. You can still create Nima files, but we will soon be adding support to open your Nima files into Rive. You’ll still be able to do everything you can currently do with Nima but in Rive. At that point, when all of Nima’s features will be added to Rive, we’ll be removing Nima from the site, further simplifying our UX and messaging.

Updated Social Media Accounts

We’re going to start transitioning our social media accounts soon. We’ll be updating the list below as we switch our accounts over to their new names.
