OMG, 2021 was crazy!

Let’s take a look back and celebrate everything the Robotos team and community achieved in 2021 since launching our collection of 9,999 Robotos!

We’re truly grateful to our collectors for all their help in the last five months—let’s see what has happened since launch:

1. Robotos Launch: Genesis 1

We created the art and technology to launch Robotos: 9,999 droid characters on the Ethereum network. The community received them with a lot of enthusiasm; they sold out in 20 minutes. 🥳

Until today, Robotos has traded 11,500 Ethereum and has 5,500 collectors around the world; plus a solid and creative community.

2. Robopets: Loyal Companions to Robotos

The Robotos team worked for many months to create Robopets, Robotos most loyal companions. In October, Roboto collectors free minted 8,800+ Robopets.

They say that pets usually resemble their owners — this isn’t an exception. Robopets at least one trait with their respective owners, and every pet will be unique.

3. TIME Studios Animated TV Show Based on Robotos

It has always been my aspiration to bring characters to life and create a universe around them. With Robotos and TIME joining forces, that dream is becoming a reality.

As an NFT artist and collector, I’m thrilled for this partnership with TIME Studios, an Emmy Award® and winning TV studio, to create a Robotos-inspired animated show.

NFTs are bringing art, community, and technology together to create something unique and innovative. We’re breaking new grounds and defining the future of storytelling and world-building.

Stories make us dream, believe in ourselves, give us meaning, transport us to other places, and make us stronger. We can’t wait to narrate the tales of our new characters and bring the Robotos and the NFT community along the ride.

So, be on the lookout for big announcements like character reveals, sketches, and sneak peeks into the production.

Read more about this partnership on Hollywoord Reporter and TIME Magazine.

4. The Robotos Microverse

The Robotos Microverse is a 2D metaverse running on the blockchain where Robopet and Robotos can play and interact with each other. A few weeks ago we launched Disco Inferno and GM Botos Island, and currently developing more microverses!

👉 The coolest Microverse to date? Short Circuit, a racetrack for Robotos and Robopets to compete!

5. Roboto Land Is Coming Together

Have you heard of Roboto Land? This world is around 200 years in the future and there are four leading civilizations. We’ve been working really hard on bringing this virtual world to reality! See how it’s looking:

6. The Robotos Workshop

The Robotos Workshop is a place where different experiments with botos happen. The workshop opened up for various purposes:

Suit Up

We released 25+ free skins to suit up your boto for different holidays, or just for fun!

Banner Builder

The banner builder allows you to create and customize a Twitter Banner with your Robotos. Choose a template, include a specific boto, randomize, pick a color, download and then use it as your Twitter or Discord PFP!

There are 12 banner design to pick from! And you can even load other NFTs like Deadfellaz and Cool Cats.

Family Portraits

After launching Robopets, Family portraits became a reality. This is available for Roboto + Robopet Matching IDs.

7. Your Stuff

If you hold a Roboto or Robopet, you can gain access to all the different file formats from Your Stuff. You’ll find the following file formats available to every Robopet that you own. All PNGs are available with transparent backgrounds as well as the NFTs’ original background color.

What file formats can you access?

  • GIF: an animated version of your NFT.
  • SVG: a resolution-free version of your NFT in vector format.
  • Head-only PNG: Your NFT’s head (perfect for PFPs).
  • Full PNG: an entire NFT, not animated.
  • Landscape PNG: a horizontal image has the proportions to use on social media banners, TV backgrounds, slides, or anything that has a 16:9 proportion.
  • Portrait PNG: This vertical image has the proportions for Instagram stories or as a phone background.

How can you Suit Up your boto?

  • Go to Your Stuff
  • Connect your wallet
  • See all your robots and click on a card
  • Now you’ll see a bunch of different image versions of your boto, including an SVG file (vector, baby!) and an avatar with just the head.

8. Tech Specs Sheet for Every Roboto

We created a downloadable spec sheet of your boto, that’s available on the Your Stuff section. Here you will see all the traits that form your Roboto so that you can have a deeper connection with them.

9. Many Collaborations

TIME x Robotos

We made these art pieces thinking of all our community and of all the fantastic things that we had been planning to do with TIME. There were 5 different pieces inspired by our amazing community.

These pieces were intended to serve as a commemoration of the collaboration between TIME and Robotos. Best part? These free pieces were all ERC-1155 on ETH Mainnet… which shows the commitment to the NFT community.

Amrit x Robotos

We collaborated with Amrit Pal Singh to create 100 pieces of a Cyborgo available for minting from Thursday Oct. 7.

Brian Morris x Robotos

We collaborated with Brian Morris to create a limited edition of 50 pieces at 0.2 ETH each. With a Profit split: 60% to the artist, Brian Morris & 40% donated to Dreams for Schools. Their programs inspire and educate students to be STEM and Computer Science literate to become the critical thinkers, creative leaders, and technologists of tomorrow.

Dario De Siena x Robotos

Dario de Siena and Pablo Stanley collaborated to create two pieces of 50 editions each. Many of these pieces were given away to Roboto collectors.

9. Airdrops for Collectors

Robotos x Deadfellaz collab

Robotos x Deadfellaz and Infected Roboto #4 spooky airdrops were a special spooky Halloween airdrop to wallets that collect at least 1 Roboto & 1 Deadfella. There were 2 versions!

Mechi Bazan x Robotos

Mechi Bazan x Robotos is the first commission with an artist outside of the NFT ecosystem. We believe commissions like this one are vital to open the doors to new collectors and talent.

Our collectors received one edition of Ichika, a Punkboto living in the streets of Akihabara — the undisputed center of anime culture in Japan. This richly colored art piece is an edgy interpretation of the hyper-futuristic Robotoland with tremendous anime influences, a whole vibe!

New Year’s Airdrop by Pablo Stanley

There are four different pieces inspired by Piratebotos, Astrobotos, Cyborgos, and Punkbotos. These are pieces that were created live on our Discord and airdropped to collectors with Roboto + Robopet matching IDs.

10. Merch Store

We opened the Roboto Shop! Where you can find mugs, soft cotton sweatshirts, our iconic Charlie Cat hoodie, glossy stickers, and more. Cotton-based clothing, about silicon-based botos, for your carbon-based body.

11. Emojibotos

We designed a set of 10 custom Emojibotos for Discord so that you can express yourself the beep-boop way. We also gave full access to all the layers and vectors on Figma and the file was duplicated more than 700 times. We also launched them in Open Sea. Feel free to remix, reuse, animate, or whatever you want to do with these emojibotos with this file.

12. IRL Events for Robotos

NYC Taco Extravaganza

From October 30 — November 5, 2021, the Robotos team ventured into New York City, where the NFT NYC event took place. We hosted Taco Extravaganza for Roboto collectors. Other interviews and connections with potential creative partners happened over the course of the week.

Tropical Night Miami Art Basel

On December 2, 2021, we hosted a Robotos x Deadfellaz Tropical Night during Miami Art Basel. An unforgettable experience where our collectors from across the globe came together! A live mural painting session went throughout the night amidst the charming atmosphere of the Wynwood district.

13. Times Square Billboard

During the NFT.NY week, we showcased our collectors’ Robotos and Robopets on a huge billboard in Times Square! This was an amazing experience and we’re glad you enjoyed this little surprise as much as we did! Where next?

14. We Love the Botos Song

We produced “We Love the Botos” to show our love for botos. It can be used on your content videos, animations, remixes, you name it! We tend to play it during our weekly Twitter spaces.

15. 5+ Allowlist partnerships

We partnered with top NFT projects to offer our collectors allowlist spots. From Invisible Friends to Cool Pets by Cool Cats, WGMInterfaces, Lil’ Heroes, Rubber Duck, and more; we gave away more than 500+ spots!

16. Contests

Robotos Art Contest

We invited our community to create a Roboto derivative and share it in this Twitter thread to participate. All techniques were accepted. The prizes ranged from free Robotos to merch!

Art #1 AahChihuahua, Art #2 by Moonimax, Art #3 by CaveGuy

Robotos LEGO Contest

To celebrate LEGO Build Day, we launched a LEGO x Robotos contest and invited every collector to build their Roboto or Robopet using LEGOs for an opportunity to win amazing prizes (like free botos, pets, and LEGOs!)

To participate, read more about the contest here.

Xmas Ornament Contest

We really enjoy a good contest so Xmas was the perfect season for another one! Roboto and Robopet collectors created their own Christmas ornaments. It was difficult to pick a winner with so many amazing entries! But we did it and these were the winners:

17. So many people supported Robotos!

Cheers for what’s coming!

We’re super grateful for all of you. And we can’t wait for all the stuff we’ll create on Robotoland’s Microverse, our Animated Show, and all the upcoming projects in 2022! Beep boop.
