How to buy a LAND in The Sandbox?

To buy a LAND, you will need to go through four main steps.

Set up your wallet
Buy $SAND and $ETH
Transferring your $SAND tokens to your The Sandbox account
Buy LAND on The Sandbox map

You will find them easy to follow whether you are already familiar with blockchain or if you are new to it!

1. Set up your wallet

To participate in a LAND sale you need to create an account and connect a wallet to it. Your purchased LAND will be stored on this secured wallet. *Please note that once you’ve created your account and linked a wallet you won’t be able to change it so choose wisely!

To create an account head over to our website: https://www.sandbox.game/en/ From there you will be able to log in using either Metamask, Bitski or Arkane.

Metamask

MetaMask is one of our partner and one of the wallets that can be used in our Marketplace. To use this wallet you’ll need to install a plugin extension — follow this video tutorial to install MetaMask:

Once installed, you will be able to link your wallet into our marketplace.

Finally input your email address, a nickname using at least three letter and set up your password. You are now good to go to the next step!

Bitski

Bitski offers a simple solution to creating a wallet via email, without the need to install a plugin. To install it, follow these simple steps:

After clicking on the Login button from our Dashboard, you will encounter the wallet popup to select the creation of your Bitski wallet

After this, you’ll need to fill in basic information and authorize our marketplace to access your wallet to purchase LAND in upcoming sale events. You are now good to go to the next step!

Arkane (via Google, Facebook or Twitter)

First click on the sign in button. Connect one of your social media account (select between Google, Facebook and Twitter). Setup your email/nickname using more than three letters. You now possess an Ethereum address connected to your social media account that you can find on the “Me” section at the bottom left of the page. You are now good to go to the next step!

2. Buy $SAND and $ETH

To participate in a LAND sale you will need $SAND but how does one get $SAND, you may ask? Look no further, we have the answer for you!

A. Buying $SAND on Binance

To begin your purchase of $SAND tokens on the Binance Platform, you will need to:

Create a Binance Account

Go to the top of the Binance Home Page and select the buy crypto option.

Select the currency of your choice.

Choose the amount of FIAT currency you want to trade to begin your crypto purchase. Then, choose the crypto coin you want to purchase and confirm all the information required.

For various FIAT currencies, there are different supported payment methods. Hence, you would be required to choose accordingly.

Once you have purchased BTC, USDT or BNB; go to “Trade”, and select “Classic”

Select the pair depending on your crypto holdings ($SAND/BTC, $SAND/BNB, $SAND/USDT)

Now you can send that $SAND to your Sandbox account!

B. Swapping $ETH for $SAND on Uniswap 🦄

If you have ETH or DAI, you can easily swap (exchange) them for $SAND tokens on these exchanges or on Uniswap for example.

Buying ETH

ETH (Ether) is the main Ethereum blockchain’s cryptocurrency. You will need some amount of $ETH to cover your gas fees. Here is how you can obtain it.

Many wallets and marketplaces recommend Coinbase to begin with the process of converting your Fiat currency (Dollars, euros…) There are plenty of other options out there (Wyre, CoinSwitch…) with a process that is quite similar but we will only breakdown the Coinbase option in this article:

US citizens only:

You are able to purchase ETH directly from the MetaMask Browser Extension following these simple steps:

Click the “Buy” button from the browser extension
Select the “Coinbase” option
Click on “Continue to Coinbase” option to purchase ETH (or DAI)

On the main page click on ETHEREUM, then View Asset

Then, on the Buy tab, click on add a payment method to link a credit card

Once done, you just enter the amount of ETH you want to buy, and after a 2-step validation process (code sent by phone), you’ll be a happy ETH owner. You can now send that ETH to your Sandbox account:

Regardless of the exchange you use, there is always a SEND function.

*MAKE SURE YOU COPY/PASTE THE RECIPIENT ADDRESS (your Sandbox wallet address) TO AVOID ANY MISTAKE

3. Transferring your $SAND tokens to your The Sandbox account

Once you’ve acquired your $SAND tokens, all you need to do is send them to your Sandbox account.

3. Make sure to “Copy/Paste” it and input this in the exchange to withdraw your funds.

4. Withdraw you funds from Binance to your Wallet address.

Here you go, you are now ready to purchase LANDs using $SAND!

4. Buy LAND on The Sandbox map

Now that you have an account with some $SAND and $ETH you are ready for the actual LAND sale! *In addition to $SAND, you will need $ETH to pay for the Ethereum blockchain gas fees (ie. transaction fees). Make sure you have some in order to purchase your LAND!

Upon launch head over to the our map: https://www.sandbox.game/en/land/

There, you’ll have to act quick and choose among the available LAND parcels (grey or Yellow for Premium LANDS) and click on any of them. When selecting a LAND or ESTATE you’ll find the information on its location, size, blocks included and price. Once you have decided which parcel you want, click on the “Buy LAND” button and finish the transaction with your wallet.

MetaMask

Once you clicked on the Buy LAND button, you’ll receive a notification from MetaMask in order to continue with your purchase.

The first notification that MetaMask will show the gas fee, which you’ll be able to change, but bear in mind that the lowest the fee, the longer the time the transaction will take to be completed.
Once you accept the price and fee, the transaction will be listed and will be displayed as “Pending” for the duration you have chosen while selecting the gas fee.
As soon as the transaction finishes, its status will change to “Confirmed”, meaning that the transaction is finally over and you are now an owner of a piece of the Sandbox metaverse.
Finally, you can select the transaction to find all the details about it on https://etherscan.io/
