Draper University is a Silicon Valley school focused on providing immersive tech entrepreneurship programs that allow startups to pitch to 80+ venture capitalists at their finale. Over 780+ Draper University alumni have launched their own startups, raised $220+M in in venture funding to date, have sold their companies for multiple millions, and have been featured in Forbes 30 under 30 (including Scanta).
This summer the Scanta team lived, breathed, and worked at the Draper University headquarters in San Mateo, California. Speakers at Draper University have included Elon Musk (Tesla), Aaron Levie (Box), Tony Hsieh (Zappos), and many more industry leaders. The Scanta team was fortunate enough to be chosen to fully experience Silicon Valley while developing an impactful network of life-long friends and mentors.
Scanta’s CEO, Chaitanya (Chad) Hiremath, gave his pitch amongst 50+ startups from over 30 countries on the final day of the 2018 summer session. Chad pitched the Pikamoji app to the audience and highlighted its fun user experiences and rapid adoption. (Previous blog explaining Pikamoji in more detail can be viewed here.)
When I asked Chad about his summer experience at Draper University, he said: “ Draper was on of the highlights in Scanta’s journey, it was exciting to work with startups from such diverse cultures. It was a fantastic learning experience for us, winning the pitch competition was just the icing on the cake.”
Once all of the pitches were finished, it was time to announce the big winner…
Scanta continues to work closely with the Draper ecosystem as it pushes to achieve its mission in disrupting the way people live, learn, and communicate through leveraging the power of augmented reality and blockchain technology.
