Script Network upgrades to v3 Testnet with new features for it’s Layer 1 Protocol [Script blockchain]

Since March 2023, Script Network, a layer one protocol, has been in its testnet phase. The initial testnet aimed to evaluate key features such as Script Wallet, Block Explorer, wallet transactions, and the operation of Lightning and Edge Nodes. Our testnet was a resounding success, with over 120,000 unique wallets created and more than 5,000,000 transactions executed. We are now thrilled to transition to the v3 testnet, a faster and more efficient chain boasting a range of new and enhanced features.
What’s new and improved?
The biggest changes have been mainly to our back-end services.
Enhanced speed
We have significantly increased the network’s speed, optimizing the front end to scale for millions of new wallets in preparation for the mainnet launch. We have also implemented automation for managing high performing teams.
More Efficient
A completely new deployment where a lot of automation processes have been implemented. Accessing features will now be more streamlined from a backend process. Our integration pipeline have now a nightly build, automatically producing health status dashboards.
New UI
We are also drastically changing the design and UI which will be implemented prior to mainnet.
Nodes — Streamlining onboarding process
Previously, users could run Validators, Lightning or Edge Nodes using test tokens, resulting in well over 300 nodes operating on the network. We have listened to the community who expressed some concerns about the onboarding process. We are now streamlining this process and are putting together a completely new game changing 1-step setup command for node runners which will be implemented before mainnet launch.
Anything else?
Apart from the 10,000 lines of code we’ve added to this new build, we do have other things in the pipeline we’re working on simultaneously, mobile and smart tv dApps are for example in the works. One of the builds were handed over this morning to one of the tv manufacturer for QA testing and we are eagerly waiting for the outcome. Script TV web is being upgraded shortly to a new version that will be able to facilitate a better experience for our community — shoppable experiences, video on demand (VoD), new content partners, and advertisement on-chain just to name a few features.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: Users who ran a node in previous testnet must complete the process again to generate a new summary string. Using an old summary from v2 will result in failure in the v3 testnet.
