1.In the past week, we have begun the process of updating our SDG Indicator stories from summer 2016 to match the changes that have taken place in the past few months. We have completed updates for SDG 1: No Poverty, SDG 2: Zero Hunger, and SDG 3: Good Health. We have found it helpful to see updates to the indicators side-by-side with previous versions.

2. From The International Institute for Sustainable Development SDG Knowledge Hub, read how UN Women is preparing a report on SDG monitoring, and the specific targets they are focusing on.

3. I&PE, Investment & Pensions Europe, reported this month on the importance of SDG monitoring for companies and investors. With the mainstreaming of “impact investing”(investing with a social impact in mind along with financial returns), the need for development of performance metrics around environmental and social impact is growing, and the SDGs provide a strong framework for companies to begin monitoring.

4. The ninth ICT4D Conference (Information & Communications Technology for Development) is only days away, beginning Monday, May 15th in Hyderabad, India. This year’s conference focuses specifically on ‘Harnessing the Power of Data’ for the SDGs. We are excited to follow along through live-streamed sessions, Twitter, and post-event reporting.
