The first UN World Forum for Sustainable Development Data was held this week in Cape Town, South Africa. We have been overwhelmed with the amount of data conversations and innovations that have been announced during and after the forum. As we catch our breath, these are the best articles we have been using to dive deeper into the UN World Data Forum.

1.The BBC Media Action Insight Blog has crafted an interesting update from the UN World Data Forum with their top 3 takeaways. What are they? 1) technology is shifting who collects data, and privacy and responsibility of collection is important, 2) social media can provide data on viewpoints without having to even ask a question, and 3) misconceptions about global development and data literacy continue to exist.

2. SDGs for all.net has written a Forum summary that digs deeper into the Global Action Plan for Sustainable Development and the various responses to the plan.

3. Big Data maintained a high amount of interest throughout the forum. The UN Global Pulse crafted a write up of the Big Data for Development session held on Monday, January 16th, that includes resources that were presented.

4. The UNESCO Institute for Statistics posted their own response to the Global Action Plan for Sustainable Development, outlining the roles they will play in the Global Action Plan, including partnerships and specific data programs.
