Collective Chats: What do we call this?

For today’s collective chat between Paul Sztajer (pdyxs), Daniel Keogh (DanielKeogh) and Rob Lee (Rob133) tackle the age-old problem of putting a name to whatever it is we are. As with coming up with a name for anything, what proceeds is a meticulous process of shouting out random ideas, cherry-picking from Wikipedia and a whole bunch of cool names to stockpile for when you decide to run off and start your own band.

Despite that, the team genuinely tried to focus on the themes of our earlier discussion on what we are about. This lead to some surprising early success!

Boarding trains of thought to weird places would become something of a theme for this chat. For e.g. this session around inspiring science phrases would lead us to stand proudly on top of rockets.

Having exhausted these gems we began scraping the barrel of internet ideation, Wikipedia; with some genuinely cool results (for anyone looking for a kick-ass band name).

More than casually, Paul Sztajer and Daniel Keogh have been toying with the German word Gedanken. We explore the pros and cons of using unique words including SEO, L337 speak and slamming people’s names together into a word salad.

Before calling it a night and coming back to a decision later we stumble into classic science based clichés before highlighting our favourite sources of inspiration to investigate.

So what are your thoughts? Could you get down with The Gedanken Experiment? Or see yourself following Rocket Surgery Simulations? How about Thought Monster Games? Or should we all have packed our bags early and grabbed lightningfuturerobotthings.com before someone braver than us snatches it? Let us know by leaving a comment.
