How are there still more features in the Sentio Desktop?!?!? This is the last part of the list of features that Sentio Desktop has. If none of the features listed here are new, maybe check out part 1 or part 2. We’ll be releasing more of these features post as they get released.

This is an unordered list of features with no priorities, so feel free to just read the ones you’re interested in and skip the ones that you’re not.

Pinned Apps/Recent Apps

Pin to task bar feature

Every app in Sentio can be pinned to the task bar. This gives a super quick way for users to access their favorite app whenever they want. To unpin an app- just right click and remove! A pinned app functions more like an app from the desktop or start panel.

Alternatively you can drag and drop the apps to the task bar and it’ll automatically add to the pinned apps as well. We built this for the users who don’t have a mouse and does not want to long click all the time.

Pinned Apps | Recent apps

Here we can see the pinned apps right beside the recent apps. The recent apps shows you all the recent apps that’s been opened. The recent apps need to be enabled for this to work.

Enable Recent Apps Feature

You can enable the recent apps through the Sentio setting panel or by right clicking the task bar. When you enable the feature, you’ll need to grant Sentio data usage permission so that we query the recent apps.

LIMITATION: You have a limit of 7 apps for both pinned apps and recent apps. We can’t show active apps because android doesn’t allow that functionality anymore. This also means that we had to remove our task manager that we use to have.

Alt + Tab

Sentio Alt + Tab Experience

Wow, is that a custom Alt + Tab experience?!?! Sentio allows you to use the key combination Alt + Tab to open up a list of recent apps. This will show you the same apps as our recent apps on your task bar. The great thing about alt tab is that it allows you to quickly switch between apps using keyboard shortcuts. You can use your mouse to select the app or go through them using Alt + Tab or Alt + Shift + Tab.

Enable Alt + Tab Feature

To enable Alt + Tab experience, all you have to do is go to the settings panel and give us the associated permissions that we need. Give it a try and see how much your productivity improves by.

LIMITATION: We can only show recent apps because of the previously stated reasons. Alt + Tab needs accessibility permission because it will give us the ability to see keyboard events. We won’t use the keyboard events to for anything malicious. For some phones, accessibility permission messes up with some interaction with Sentio because there are so many system things going on all at once.

Change keyboard

Keyboard change

In Sentio, you can directly change the keyboard you use. This allows you to type in the language and setup you want.

Turn off virtual keyboard

The biggest benefit of keyboard change is that when you plug in a hardware keyboard, you can immediately turn off virtual keyboard. This means you can take back half your screen space when you’re now working and typing away.

LIMITATIONS: Sentio can’t help change language of the same keyboard that easily.

Conclusion: Part 3

That wraps up this part of the feature showcase and limitations. We hope this guide will give you a better understanding of the features and a more productive desktop experience.
