After the mess that was CS106AP in the winter, I swore to never take another CS class again. Going into the spring, I was excited for my schedule, packed with creative writing and film classes. But on the first day of school, my heart was broken by disappointment.
Before CS377 had begun, I had always had an inkling of an idea that the design principles that I had learned in classes such as CS147 were not so different from the skills and techniques that could be used to make video games, but it was always just a small inkling.
Designing games is difficult. Designing educational games to teach unit conversions is even more so. But we — Yanyan, Jia, and I — took a stab at it anyway.
