Creatives control Process
An attempt to identify useful Patterns to build a Learning Organization.
Context
An organization has come together to deliver value in an immature domain, or in a domain which is unfamiliar to a Creative Team. The necessary roles have been defined and initially staffed.
Problem
A creative culture, like any culture, can benefit from recognizing a focal point of project direction and communication. Successful organizations work in an organic way with a minimum of centralized control. Yet there are important points of focus, embodied in roles, that tie together the ideas, requirements, and constraints into an artifact ready for testing, packaging, marketing, and delivery.
Solution
Make the Creative Team the focal point of process information. Place the Creative role at a hub of the creation process for a given Potential Valuable Item (PVI). A Potential Valuable Item represent a concrete hypothesis to deliver potential additional value to end users, customers or stakeholders once validated, and that can be separately marketed, implemented or shipped.
