Ever wonder why it seems like your artsy-fartsy friends are getting lucky more often? According to a study in Proceedings of the Royal Society B, it’s because they are.

After surveying 425 men and women about their sex lives, psychologist Daniel Nettle discovered that creatives — who engaged in activities like creating visual art and writing poetry — averaged four to ten sexual partners. In fact, the more creative endeavors study participants engaged in, the more sexual partners they tended to have.

On the other hand, non-creatives in the study only had three sexual partners.

Does that mean everyone should connect with their inner Shakespeare or Van Gogh to get more action in the bedroom? Perhaps, but Nettle describes other factors that contribute to the amount of sex creatives are having.
