You’ve had some wonderful sleep in your partner’s arms after an amazing sex session that knocked you out for the night. Then you wake up to the smell of your favorite breakfast, an omelet made to perfection, bacon, and orange juice that your partner delivers on a tray for you to enjoy before you step one toe out of bed.

What a wonderfully romantic way to start the day, right?

Although some people love the idea of enjoying a good meal or snack in bed with their partner, others explicitly forbid it. In fact, according to a survey of 2,000 people by bakery brand St. Pierre, while 47 percent say they enjoy eating meals or having snacks in bed, 34 percent are absolutely against eating food in bed at all — and they are particularly against foods that make a mess, like ramen, tacos, and curry. In some extreme cases, people (83%) have even kicked their partner out of bed for eating.

“There is clearly a divide when it comes to the idea of eating in bed,” St. Pierre’s spokesperson said in response to these results.
