Do you like to have sex with the lights on so you can see every movement you make with your partner’s body? Or do you prefer pitch darkness, where you can leave some things to your imagination as your other senses act as your guide?

“While making love in the dark can be a sensory heightening experience, I encourage all couples to feel comfortable and uninhibited with the lights on as well.”

To find out people’s lighting preferences while doing the deed, sex toy company Adam & Eve conducted a survey of over 1,000 people and these were their responses:

  • Combining lights on and off (32 percent)
  • Lights off (28 percent)
  • Lights on (11 percent)

In addition, 29 percent of respondents said they have no preference, and according to Adam & Eve’s resident sexologist Dr. Jenni Skyler, this makes sense considering how couples tend to generally approach sex.
