There are plenty of things that can distract us from having sex with our partner, and for some, when their favorite sports teams are in a game, bedroom play flies out the window. Last year, intimate lifestyle products company LELO conducted a survey about how the World Cup was impacting people’s sex lives — and the results can certainly apply to how we handle sex and American football, or any other sports that may act as a sexual distraction.

Of the 1,000 people surveyed, 24 percent reported they would say no to sex in order to watch a game. And 25 percent of them took that idea a bit further, saying they would abstain from sex completely if that meant their team would win a championship.

“Sex still is a priority….”

Luckily, most people surveyed do not have this attitude about sex and sports. In fact, 72 percent said they would have sex with their partner even if the game was on, though 7 percent would balance their two desires by having a quickie so they can go back and watch the game after swiftly scratching their itch. Others (8 percent) prefer to fulfill their need for sports and sex simultaneously by positioning themselves in a way that allows them to watch the game as they do…
