When your hand just won’t do but you don’t have any sex toys around, how do you handle self-service?

You may have to turn to regular items around the house to do the job, but which ones?

To find out the most common non-sex toys people use for masturbation, Superdrug Online Doctor conducted a survey of 900 men and women. This is how men ranked the items researchers asked about:

  • Pillows (21 percent)
  • Shower heads (19 percent)
  • Fruits or vegetables (19 percent)
  • Candles (14 percent)
  • Hair brushes (11 percent)
  • Pens or markers (10 percent)
  • Toothbrushes (8 percent)
  • Mattresses (8 percent)
  • Blankets (8 percent)
  • Tool handles (6 percent)
  • Beer or wine bottles (5 percent)
  • Toilet plungers (4 percent)
  • Makeup items (3 percent)
  • Remote controls (3 percent)
