80-year-old creep arrested after molesting little girl in Suzhou elevator
Elevators are now becoming more dangerous to children in China than escalators
This spring’s elevator creep epidemic continues to rage on with footage showing an 80-year-old man molesting a young girl in a residential lift in Suzhou.
The incident took place on Sunday at around 3 pm. Surveillance footage from inside the elevator shows an elderly man enter the lift with a young girl. Once the doors close, the man reaches over to touch the girl’s shoulder before quickly getting much more handsy, stroking her, forcibly holding her, grabbing her, and molesting her.
Fortunately, the little girl is able to break free after a few seconds and quickly stumbles out of the elevator. As she leaves, the man give her a casual wave goodbye.
The girl’s mother, given the pseudonym Zhang, told reporters that her daughter had gone downstairs that afternoon by herself in order to buy something cold to drink from a shop. However, when she returned, she wasn’t carrying any drink.
Sensing that something was wrong, she asked her daughter what had happened. The little girl said that a grandpa had “hugged” her in the elevator.
Zhang immediately wanted to go check the elevator’s surveillance tape. When she heard this, her daughter started to become nervous, claiming that actually nothing had happened.
Despite her daughter’s protests, Zhang rushed over to the property management’s office and watched the sickening footage for herself — which was later uploaded online, causing a stir on Chinese social media.
After watching the clip, Zhang called the cops. They have since arrested an 80-year-old man surnamed Tao. Zhang says that she has not received any call or apology from the man or his family.
This is only the latest in a shocking string of incidents in which perverts have been caught on surveillance camera taking advantage of children on elevators around China.
Just over the last month or so, a 65-year-old creep was detained by police after molesting and kissing a young girl in a Shenzhen elevator, a Shanghai delivery guy was arrested after surveillance footage showed him exposing his penis to a young girl on the elevator, and a man in Shanxi province was caught on surveillance tape molesting and kissing a pair of young girls over a period of more than a minute-and-a-half.
