China’s infamous squat toilets tried to claim another human appendage on Monday when a 10-year-old girl slipped after using the bathroom at her Guangxi primary school and got her left foot stuck in the hole.

Video footage shows the unfortunate little girl crying as firefighters arrive, pleading with them to please: “Don’t drill a hole into me!”

The firefighters assure her that they won’t do her any harm, encouraging her to be a brave girl. A short time later, she was freed from the squat toilet’s clutches, not even suffering from minor swelling afterwards.

While people have been known to slip into squat toilets from time to time, it seems that more often they tend to get themselves stuck in a fruitless quest to retrieve their dropped smartphones.
