Last month’s Product Update was full of exciting new features like Custom Badges and a better way to invite users. In October, we focused on extending the sharing capabilities and adding a personal touch to your Shelf.

Public Sharing

In many organizations using Shelf, our platform is utilized as an internal portal that makes it easy to collect, organize, share, and explore the most important pieces of information among teammates, across departments, and throughout the whole company.

Sharing is made easy with Shelf by adding content to Groups. This content becomes immediately accessible to all group members and is accompanied by notifications when changes or additions are made for all. You can also actively share specific content via email and attach a brief note, setting the context for the recipients.

Until recently, sharing via Shelf was restricted to a private share where the recipients needed to be members of your Shelf account in order to view the content. We’ve now added the option to share selected content publicly through a generated link. The link will allow non-Shelf members to view (but not edit) the selected content you’re choosing to share with them. Our aim in adding this feature was to expand your ability to pass on the knowledge you’ve gathered in your organization to others, such as your sales partners, for example.

Publicly Shared Content

Public Sharing is optional, and by default sharing remains private to secure your information. However, you can privately and publicly share content directly from the Shelf Web Clipper immediately after you saved the clipped content. And of course, you can share content from within our main platform. Give it a try!

Custom Branding

Users on our Workplace Plan can now infuse their Shelf with a bit of personalized company branding. A new setting in the Admin Panel allows you to display your own logo in place of Shelf’s with just a few quick clicks.

In order to change the branding for your organization, simply navigate to the Admin Panel > Logo Settings and upload your files.

More Ways to Log Into Shelf

With all of the online platforms you regularly use, each with their respective log-in credentials, it can be tricky to remember all of those passwords — or recall what custom Shelf domain you had set up before leaving for vacation.

To help you navigate these tricky waters, we’ve changed the reset password procedure. Previously, you had to know your custom domain, whereas now you can simply go to login.shelf.io and reset your password from there.

And while we were at it, we touched up the UI of the login forms to make your life easier, but more beautiful as well.

Login and Reset Password

Over the next few weeks, we’ll be focusing on enhancing the ways to explore the content you and your colleagues have curated on Shelf.

Meanwhile, take a closer look at the new features that are already available on your Shelf and get in touch if there is anything you’d like assistance with.

I’ll be in touch soon with the next Product Update. Thanks again, as always.
