SideQuest for Meta Quest

SideQuest launched in May 2019, 2 days after the official launch of Quest 1 since then, with your help, hundreds of developers have made their game a success. Games like Pavlov, Hyper Dash and Gorilla Tag all started out as early access on SideQuest and you made them MASSIVE! SideQuest it totally safe and we have a great relationship with Meta and lots of other hardware providers in the industry.
Why do you need SideQuest? That’s an easy one- you can find lot’s more content on SideQuest that is not on the main Meta store. It is not always an easy path for developers to launch their games and experiences, they need community members like you to help them on that journey by playing and reviewing. Supporting SideQuest = Supporting developers and being part of something special.

You can find all main store, App Lab and sideload content on SideQuest. It’s much easier to go to one place to browse everything you need, in any category, free or paid, hot, new and more!
App Lab Only
We helped create App Lab with Meta, to make install easier for you.
You don’t need a PC or cable!!
https://applab.games — bookmark this link in your Quest browser, on your phone or PC/laptop browser for quick access to App Lab content.
Once there you can use a filter for Top ,Hot, New and Updated games. You can also filter for ‘free’ content too. Easy peasy! App Lab content will show in your Quest library alongside store games.
Tip: Lot’s of store games, actually have demos on App Lab! Here is a list of Fitness apps with free demos to get you started!
Sometimes developers make awesome content but for various reasons it cannot be hosted on the main store or App Lab, so they host on SideQuest. We call it sideload content. Sideloading is simply a file transfer from one device to your Quest.
Examples of cool stuff to sideload is QuestCraft (link to your Minecraft Java Edition) & basically any game by Dr Beef such as Doom 3 & Return to Castle Wolfenstein. Classics! You can also sideload lots of custom homes, custom maps and other custom content for various store games to make them even better!
Sideload content has a few extra set up steps and this content will show in Unknown sources in your headset.
What you need:
>Android Phone + USBC cable
>Basic Windows or Mac PC /laptop + USBC cable

Tip: Sideload the SideQuest in VR app so you only need to install with a cable once, then you can sideload from inside your headset! Yay!
Note: You don’t need a gaming PC to install SideQuest. Chromebooks are not supported due to a technical issue with their software. Apple phones do not permit sideloading — but you can use your Apple browser to access App Lab content. Mac is supported.
There are a few ways to set up sideloading:
- Super simple and quick install process.
- Install the SideQuest VR app to your headset.
- Easy game port transfers for games like Doom, Quake, Half-Life etc.
- Manage headset settings and more.
- Manage files and apps on your headset.
- Install APK and OBB files to your headset.
- Stream from your headset to your PC ( Windows Only ).
