A particular subset of the fandom has fantasised about Martian on Martian action

When NetherRealm released Injustice: Gods Among Us, the inclusion of guest character Scorpion in the DLC was a master stroke. The game was designed to make DC fans' dreams come true, and the move managed to blindside a number of unsuspecting fans who bought the season pass expecting downloadable fighters from the DC canon.

With Injustice 2 comes new fighters, and new downloadable content. And once again, DC fans will be treated to characters from outside the DC Universe. In a direct response to the Justice League’s lawsuit, NetherRealm has announced that child friendly Looney Tunes characters Elmer Fudd, Wile E Coyote, Yosemite Sam and Marvin the Martian will all be ready for download in the months following the game’s launch.

Says Ed Boon:

The Justice League of America has lodged a lawsuit against NetherRealm Studios, accusing us of crafting a game that does not represent the true, family friendly nature of these heroes. What better way is there to show that this isn’t the case than pitting these heroes against beloved children’s cartoon characters. Watch as Elmer Fudd pulls his shotgun out and presses it against his opponents head, or Marvin the Martian launches nuclear weapons from space. The kids will love it!

As fans of Looney Tunes know, their inclusion promises far more violence than fans previously expected from the game. Silent Protagonist has reached out to the Justice League for comment, but did not receive a response in time for publication.
