Slackjaw Updates

Hello, friends and enemies and Swiss citizens!

Slackjaw has some updates that you may or may not have heard.

1. We have re-opened submissions. We were closed to submissions all summer long. Well, we’re back, we look forward to reading your humor drafts, and you can always find our submission guidelines here.
2. Slackjaw has new guest editors! Through 2023,

   Emily Menez
   , and
   Sianna Lani
   are joining the team to help vet submissions. We’re excited to have them. Here’s the full announcement where the three of them introduce themselves. Feel free to drop in and say ‘hi’.
3. Contest! We have posted a free contest featuring humorist Mike Sacks. It’s called The Better Writer, Better You, Doin’ It With Mike Sacks Supreme Comedy Writing Contest. Mike is a prolific and legendary humorist known for his work in the New Yorker, his early work in McSweeney’s, his New Yorker interviews with the likes of Mike Judge and Vince Gilligan, his 10 comedy novels, and his Amazon Audible comedy projects with Jon Hamm, Rhea Seehorn, Bob Odenkirk, Gillian Jacobs, Patton Oswalt, and others. The contest is a chance to ask Mike questions about writing, and one supreme winner will earn personal humor writing coaching from Mike, which is completely awesome.
