The goal of every digital marketing research is to get insights on a group of individuals who are, or could be, potential customers. If you want to influence the buyer’s journey, it’s very important to connect with them. Find out want they want or think, what they need, which platform are they using the most, and how they behave. You should know your audience better than you know yourself.

Definition

What is audience listening?

Audience listening is the process of studying and analyzing what people are saying about your brand, your products or services, and other competitors on digital media channels. This kind of information should give you a better idea about what people want or need, and discover their expectations just by “listening” when they speak.

Just remember that most of the people don’t share this information directly on your feed. This is why it is essential to conduct your own research by reading their comments, tweets, reviews, and see who they follow. In the end, this makes you more effective in delivering a digital marketing strategy that is appealing to your audience.

“Diplomacy is listening to what the other guy needs. Preserving your own position, but listening to the other guy. You have to develop relationships with other people so when the tough times come, you can work together.”
