Minecraft Marketplace Texture Packs No Longer Available to Preview on Saved Worlds on Xbox
And it really, really, sucks.
Minecraft is considered one of the most popular games ever made. One of the unique features of Minecraft is the ability for players to personalize the game’s appearance by using texture packs. The Minecraft Marketplace on Xbox has been offering texture packs to players for quite some time now, allowing them to give their game a fresh and distinctive look.
Before 2023, around the time when Bedrock Edition was released, there was a change in the way texture packs could be previewed in Minecraft on Xbox Series S and Series X. Players were previously able to preview a texture pack on their saved worlds, but this is no longer possible. As a result, it has become much more difficult for players to see how a new texture pack will look in their game before purchasing it. However, players could still look around at the prospective texture pack but they could not save the game while doing so.
Minecraft players everywhere are expressing their dissatisfaction with the recent change that prevents them from previewing texture packs before purchasing them. This change not only leads to players wasting their hard-earned money on packs they don’t like, but it also makes it challenging for them to compare and choose between different packs. Previously, players had the convenience of previewing various texture packs and selecting the one that best suited their needs. Unfortunately, this option is no longer available.
It’s possible that Microsoft made this change to reduce the time and resources required to preview texture packs on Xbox. However, some players believe that Microsoft is attempting to generate more revenue by encouraging users to buy more texture packs.
This change has also caused problems for players who enjoy playing with friends. Continuously changing texture packs can be frustrating for other players, who may not want to relearn what items look like every time a new pack is used. As a result, friends may no longer want to play with the user.
No one wants to waste their money on a texture pack that they don’t like. Players can only see what the publisher wants them to see in the marketplace previews, which may not accurately represent the pack. For many players, the appearance of armor is a crucial factor in their decision to use a texture pack.
Texture pack publishers often showcase all the blocks and textures available in a game, along with texture packs, using attractive builds created in creative mode. However, nothing compares to viewing the texture pack on your own world that you’ve invested time and effort into building. Imagine spending six dollars on a texture pack, only to find that your massive castle, which you’ve worked on for two months, looks like a giant birthday cake. It would be quite disappointing, wouldn’t it?
To buy a Minecraft Bedrock texture pack on XBOX, Minecraft coins are required and Minecraft Marketplace purchases are non-refundable. All transactions on Minecraft Marketplace are final.
If you have an issue with a purchase, such as not receiving the correct item, or a technical problem, you can contact the support team for assistance. Depending on the situation, they will review your case and offer a solution, including a refund or store credit. However, in general, refunds are not available for Marketplace purchases. Tough luck, texture pack connoisseur.
