The SORA, Polkaswap, and Fearless Wallet projects are all closely related as they form integral parts of the SORA and DOTSAMA ecosystems (of which SORA is a part). That is why development status updates are released every two weeks for these three projects, in one convenient place, with development updates from across the community. Enjoy the February 27, 2023 Ecosystem updates!

The SORA Integrated Plan https://sora.org/plan

As the shortest month in the Gregorian calendar comes to an end, we bring you the latest updates to find your bearings within the different tracks of the SORA ecosystem’s north star. Like the different constellations in the night sky, there are different projects being worked on. This time, the star shining the brightest is SORA Card.

Public testing for SORA Card registration, KYC process, and on-ramping is going quite smoothly, thanks to everyone who participated. If you have not tried these features already, you can try them out on the Polkaswap web testing interface, or depending on your phone’s OS, on SORAlution or Testflight.

Try SORA Card phase 1 on the Polkaswap web testing interface, or on SORAlution or Testflight

At this point, you might be wondering what the benefit of having a bank is anyway since it’s the flaws in the banking system that led you to cryptocurrencies in the first place. It is a valid question for sure, and one that is often taken for granted, especially if you have been following SORA Daily. In the latest video, a snippet from the 2021 SORA Economic Forum where Professor Richard Werner explains the “Quantitative Theory of Disaggregated Credit”:

Well, as it turns out, you need a way for the economy to be circular, constantly buying and selling, instead of accumulating and speculating, for it to make the biggest impact. Initially, users will be able to apply for a European International Bank Account Number (IBAN), with more fiat currencies becoming available, that will bridge a gap that is wider than the Great Rift Valley, which is the void between DeFi and TradFi. SORA is working very hard to implement XOR as legal tender. This is an uphill battle, but thanks to the hard work and support of all the people interested and collaborating, we are able to keep on climbing until we are finally successful.

In the meantime, having access to the “traditional” system, through SORA Card will allow the SORA economy to begin the proverbial economic circle, as people will be able to use their cryptocurrencies, which are a unit of account, to pay for and receive payment for IRL goods and services, which will help XOR become a medium of exchange, and be more widely recognised as a store of value, accomplishing the key functions of money.

What’s the difference between SORA Card and any other neobanking offering?” is a frequently asked community question, and the simplest answer is freedom. SORA Card gives you the freedom to manage your finances however you please. Using Polkaswap.io as the hub for your banking activities gives you the power, and the responsibility that comes from the freedom of decentralized finance. The next FAQ is “why do I need to do KYC for the IBAN?” some people even follow up by saying that it’s contradictory or hypocritical, given that you are disclosing your personal details. However, think of it this way: if you’re crossing the HASHI bridge from the Ethereum network into SORA, you pay gas fees in ETH. Similarly, if you are accessing TradFi through DeFi, you need to comply with the rules of each network you interact with.

Soon live — the SORA Polkadot Parachain Campaign!

The SORA Kusama Parachain bridge has not had significant changes, however, there is a lot of work to fix block production on the Rococo public testnet ahead of the SORA Polkadot Parachain project. We hope you have unlocked your DOTs, as the auction starts soon!

The Polkaswap order book functionality is going well. We are working hard on completing the pre-production side of it, doing our research and compiling documentation before the devs begin to buidl! On the other hand, the Trustless EVM bridge has ongoing work addressing the findings from the constant audits the infrastructure is undergoing, as well as determining incentive architecture for relayers.

The XST synthetics platform development is progressing smoothly, collaborating closely with our oracle partners as they implement their side ahead of testing. Since we brought up the topic of community FAQ earlier, the same goes for this question: “will there be more details on the synthetics platform?” The answer is a resounding yes! There will be an article and content made to help all users understand what it is, how it works, and what the benefits are to the SORA network.

Finally, the SORA Wallet mobile app has testing ongoing to fix bugs and fine-tune features such as SORA Card. You can look forward to a release very soon, where you will already be able to register for a card and start managing your finances with freedom at the tip of your fingers and wherever you are.

Moving on to the Polkaswap web, SORA Card preparation and development are a focus point, but the ongoing mission to bring as much data as possible, for the discerning trader to make better and more informed choices (after DYOR) on Polkaswap is going along well. The dashboards are being worked on, so please look forward to these great additions to the style and freedom you have come to love.

The Fearless Wallet team is relentlessly working on the full release of the Fearless Wallet desktop app and browser extension (the Beta version has been available for many weeks). Thank you to everyone who has tested the features so far! They are also Fearlessly working on the Polkaswap feature integration. Imagine having access to all your Polkadot, Kusama and their respective parachain assets to fearlessly swap and provide liquidity for, with style and freedom… then imagine having access to SORA card to use them IRL as well!

Big congratulations to the Ceres team for their successful HMX token ILO! The Hermes platform powers the Hermes DAO, a one-of-a-kind governance mechanism for a crypto investment fund. Unlike your average fund, everything is decided by the DAO transparently, the parliament members are doxxed for everyone’s safety, and all the information is available to the public. About SORA, Polkaswap, and Fearless Wallet

SORA is a new economic system aimed at creating a supranational multiverse economic system with built-in tools for decentralized finance (DeFi). The SORA network implements a new way of parachain architecture on Polkadot and Kusama network, with the capability to bridge external blockchains (like Ethereum) to the Polkadot ecosystem.

One of the DeFi applications that will run on the SORA network is Polkaswap, a noncustodial liquidity aggregating, cross-chain AMM DEX designed uniquely for the Polkadot ecosystem with boundless liquidity through its one-of-a-kind Aggregate Liquidity Technology (ALT).

Fearless Wallet is a bespoke mobile wallet designed for the decentralized future on the Polkadot and Kusama ecosystem, with native support for iOS and Android platforms. A premium user experience, fast performance, and secure storage for your accounts. Fearless Wallet will integrate Polkaswap for easy, decentralized swaps of assets.
